I came in last place with this image.

My largest mistake was that I incorrectly read the dimension rules mad after being out of quite a few of the last months challenges...I was a bit out of touch!

But no complaints! I now know that I will use all of the pixels allotted and will be aware to triple check an image before I enter it in a challenge!

So out of curiosity..biased as I am I didn't think that I deserved last place! How do you think having the correct size might have or have not affected the voting? Please note that I went back to the original image and duplicated the crop, desat, color balance and levels to make it look as close as possible to the original.

Thanks for your patience,
Jen

Well...since you asked for our opinions...the original certainly adds more texture and depth to the image. I rated your photo a 4, due to lack of detail with the small size. I also was not very fond of the color cast or duotone or whatever treatment you added to give it the greenish-yellow cast. I like the original much better, but still IMHO would only rate it about a 6, mostly due to the unappetizing appearance of the bananas. Maybe in color it would be a different story. But the question is...are you happy with it? That's all that matters. :o)

ack I made another mistake..throws hands up... the 1st thumbnail leads to the larger and the 2nd to the original...but that out of the way..

yes...I was going for an up close look at all of the bumps and dents that come along with being a banana in my home. I had a great time creating an interesting angle and would do the same thing..minus the small size..all again!

It just kind of hits you in the gut to look at your work and know it was judged the worst!

Thank you for your thoughts..have a great week!

Unfortunately, like most guys, I cling steadfastly to the belief that size does matter. ;-) The larger size photo just gives everyone a much better ability to see what you were trying to accomplish, and that is reflected in the larger photo you posted. I definitely would have rated it higher.

And thanks for taking such a positive attitude on this!

I really thought that was the problem and not as much the shot itself..I guess I really have nowhere to go but up .lol
Thank you for your nice comments and I am not even going to touch on the size matters point..hahah
