I do like the new private message system, and it's nice to see all the messages I have, but it still feels incomplete. Just looking at the side, I can't tell if there's a new message in my current PM threads (I've had at least one longer conversation with someone that's spanned more than one message back and forth). I think it would be really nice if the messages could be stored, perhaps in folders (even if it were just 2: "new" and "archive"), so that I would only see a subset of my PMs on the front page.

What would also be nice is if we could have some sort of indicator of whether or not the PMs on the front page are new, or if we've already read them.

I thought that already happened. If they haven't been read they're in bold or blue or something.

The link will be blue of the message is new, black if you've already read it. Langdon is working on code to have the box move up on the page (above your scores update box) when there are new messages, but that's not done yet.

I'd like to see Recent Comment notifications there, in their own folder. Possible?

ETA: i.e. change the "E-mail me when I receive a comment on any of my images that are not in voting" checkbox to a "When I receive a comment on any of my images that are not in voting," drop-down with the options "email me," "send me a message using the PM system," "do both," and "don't notify me."

I think it would be better if it were at the top and it just said something 1 new message in red right next to the "welcome back".

That's a good idea. The area above the links is a lot of real estate that could be used for data like that.

Why don't it send my cell a text when I have a new message?
Why does that collum on the left take up 18% of the screen?
Why can't it be smaller....much smaller until I move my mouse over it. Then it could take over the whole screen if you wanted it to.
Why can't I stay on topic?
Thanks for the new feature.
