So, Amanda Knox get's 26 years in prison for the murder of Meredith Kercher.

Do you think she's guilty? Is she the "She-Devil", a sex-craved murderer, or simply an innocent exchange student?

Yep, guilty as sin

The case seems so flimsy to me. ONe of the key pieces of evidence is a knife that has her and the victims DNA on it....

They lived together. Im sure if you want into my house you'd find a lot of stuff with my wife and I's dna. From everything I've heard, the defense had surely created a reasonable doubt of guilt.

Whether she is guilty or not, the media coverage of the case, and how she was portrayed, has been absolutley disgusting but no surprises there. There were also some spectacularly dodgy elements of the trial such as evidence which was legally deemed as inadmissible still being allowed to be shown. Still, it was fun. There is nothing the baying masses love more than a female sex murderer. Apart from a female sex murderer and dead kids of course and then it's party time in tabloid heaven! Whoo hoo! We all love a Myra!!

Americans have no chance in an Italian court. They hate us there. The simple solution is to just not go there. Her mom and dad will be lucky to get out before they are jailed for something too.

Piuttosto una dichiarazione idiota e un insulto per gli italiani il DPC, e il Paese.

Babelfish:

"Rather an idiot declaration and an insult for the Italians the DPC, and the Country."

What a sweeping generalization to make. I would love to see on what "evidence" you would base that decision on. If indeed Americans are to be brought before the tribunals simply because the locals don't like you... best you stay home my friend.

My opinion is based solely from what I have heard Italians say. I'm sorry if that offends someone. If you must insult me, please feel free to do it in Italian. I don't understand why I get all the hate. Alot of countries hate Americans for good reasons.

Ray I understand that with your glowing personality you must have a ton of friends but please do not refer to me as being one of them.

I think you'll find most people just hate bigots.

Personally I think she is guilty, and deserves everything she gets. And that has nothing to do with the fact she is american.

Yeah, they're all the same, right?

Sounds like you're guilty of exactly what you're accusing the Italians of.

I have known several over the years. They were all great, I liked them all. Do they represent the whole country? maybe maybe not. When they all(that i've known) say simuliar things I tend to believe that maybe they do. Is it really all that insulting? Here in America we, not me but generally speaking, we hate poor, black and gay people(among others). Its not insulting if someone says it. It's insulting that its true.

The question is about Amanda and if she got a fair trial. There seems to be some anti-Americanism. Does that mean she got railroaded? I didn't see the evidence and wasn't there for the trial, so I cant say with any certainty. But it sure looks like poor evidence from here. I don't think its over. Their appeal system seems to be more powerful than ours. We are experts in unfair trials, if anyone can spot them its us.

My statement was about a general opinion believed to be held in Italy. By general I mean average. All of anything is never the same.

If you disagree then offer your own opinion of what you believe the Italians think of Americans.

Were your Italian friends wearing black shirts?

Seriously, I've traveled to and worked in Italy many times and I have a lot of Italian friends and none of them would say anything about hating Americans, if anything, it's quite the opposite. I know they'd be greatly insulted by your misguided stereotyping of Italians.

Then say that and convince me I'm wrong. I don't need to be called a bigot, idiot or ray's friend. I have no intolerance or hatred toward anyone. really its quite the opposite

I have no idea what you mean about black shirts.

Because I think Italians hate Americans in general, that makes me a bigot? I don't hate them I think we should fix it.
