I am not on my home computer, but one at one of the classes I teach. Their computer displays colors fine, but all web pages are white with text.

I can see the dpchallenge header over to the "ribbon, and then no more headers. There is not gray background, but the pictures look fine.

On a chess website, I can see the pictures, but no the "checkerboard."

On facebook, I can see the pictures and updates, but no lines dividing it.

Any ideas?

Sounds like an issue with the browser not displaying things properly.
What browser are you using? If everything else displays fine outside the web browser, try using a different browser as the first step in troubleshooting.

Perhaps one of the students was messing with settings and turned off something important.

Go to the help menu and there should be an "about" choice. That will tell you what version you have.

Can you post a screenshot of what the browser is giving you?

Tools/Internet Options. On the General tab, click the "Accessibility" button. Uncheck everything and then "OK" your way out.

I shall continue the quest next week when I go back to the class. It is a group of Senior Citizens, so there is no telling what may have happened.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Maybe one of the senior citizens has vision problems and turned on the accessibility options.

Which is something we could determine from seeing a screenshot.

How would a screenshot tell us if one of the senior citizens has vision problems? :-P

The appearance would show if accessibility features (such as a high contrast theme) have been turned on.

Right click on internet explorer from start menu NOT the task bar. Internet properties, last tab advanced. From here you can choose to reset the browser settings. You will not lose your favorites etc.

As for your hard of sight seniors, if they have trouble seeing something on the screen handy tip, hold down ctrl key while hitting the plus or minus key this will zoom in and out on any web page, if they feel the need to WITHOUT changing screen resoluton settings etc.

won't be able to get a screen shot until next wednesday.

it does work in chrome, so for those that were as bugged by it as i was, i just told them to open chrome instead of explorer.
