I didn't partake in this challenge. My take after voting and commenting.
Too many people praying, pictures of statues...yawn.
Too many architectural shots, although a few are masterpeices and one is OOB
Too many bibles open with crosses on them. (Only 1 really unique)
Very little ingenuity.
One masterful landscape shot.
Two very well done portraits, that required effort, ingenuity and skill.
Only three images challenge religious norms, one of which is humorous.
Religion is a boring subject it seems.
Surprisingly I gave out 4 x 10's in this challenge. I mostly only award one 10 in a challenge, if ever. I think those that got 10 stood out from the rest so dramatically but were still worthy.

What do I know, I'm a Registered User...

Hum, i think i'd tend to agree with you there. It doesn't seem like a hugely creative bunch of entries (mine included). I was really pleased with my image from a technical position, spent a lot of time of the processing, but i wish now that i went for something that was more meaningful to me and my concepts of spirituality and religion.

Some images are different than the straight to shot of a church, cross or statue.
Unfortunately, I don't sense any relationship with the subject so I voted purely based on technique, composition, story told by the image.
I have esteem for the people who entered in this challenge.

I figured I'd better post now befoire the night trolls come out to.......troll the entries.

Oh yeah.....and I got a validation request on this image that must have taken me a whole three minutes to edit, and is one of the purest ones I've ever submitted.

I happy to see that I was not the only one who got a validation request. I don't have the highest score but maybe I have the most comments!

this was a wide open challenge, with no "guidelines", just an "N/A" !

Challenge: Exclusive Open Challenge Religion II
Rules: Basic Editing
Details: N/A

i think the images reflect what most of the submitters thought represented "Religion" to themselves or others. i'd wager that if you did a poll of 100 people, that vast majority (and likely >90%) would say things like "cross", "Bible", "prayer", "church" if you asked them the first thing that pops into their head when you say the word "Religion"

hopefully there was some creative photographic twists used to make these images/ideas fresh...

i'm not opposed to these wide open challenges, but you are prone to get what the majority of people associate with a theme or word, and not too much else ... especially when the photographers want to impress, and in no way offend, the voters to win the ribbon.

Umm....guys.....

You're *really* not supposed to make specific comments about the images.

I just dropped a ticket onto SC. Seems kind of odd that there are a whole bunch of validation requests.

Yours all recent?

Like within the past hour or so?

While voting I was looking for an aspect of religion to be reflected by the photo. As you can imagine, some did, some didn't.

I tried to represent an aspect of religion in my photo although it seems as though I didn't do that very well!

Mine was received sometime in the last couple of hours. Just sent it in. (Night trolls have started also - last two votes have dropped my score)

I just started voting the challenge and still have a very long way to go, but from what I've seen so far I have been pretty impressed. Maybe all the good ones lined up on the 1st page for me. I've seen one that made me fall out of my chair laughing, and a couple that made me think. I look forward to seeing the rest of them. Glad I didn't enter this one.

This has proven to be a most soul & mind provoking challenge for me to vote and comment upon. There are some truly amazing images, and concepts here.

You have rated 56 of 110 images (51%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 56 of 110 images (51%) in this challenge.

You have given an average score of 7.6250.

There is some work here I never would have imagined.

Me too! ...and it's a very basic edit, can't think why it would be up for validation.....but sent original....(twice)...just for practice....well OK it was by accident! ...panicked when I saw my entry in thumb, assumed it was the uploaded version and freaked out, hit cancel, and it didn't....resent and it did it twice.

Scoring is fairly lousy, but I know some people like it......waiting for validation! ..that definitely changes the perspective of the waiting week.... and I thought I was special on my week coming back to the fold..... Good luck all!
