I can't take ANOTHER week of no scores to check and comments to read. For the second week in a row, I had a good idea, but just couldn't find the time to execute it. I need to start planning better!

I have a couple this week that I almost submitted, but, when I was honest with myself, I KNEW they weren't that great, and that I would have been submitting one of them just to participate for the week.

Bitterly disappointed.

This next one isn't going to make it any easier ;)

I just came back from two weeks off. I did not get the shot I wanted. But I am proud of what I entered. At least until it gets hammered.

I hope people think it met the challenge, I did not use glass, or some of the suggestions in the challenge.

Buck up, Welcher! You're just saving all that amazing creative energy for the perfect photo that will make us all OOh and Aah.

I think you're smart not to submit if you don't have something you're proud of. It's probably less fun to read comments for a photo that stinks!
In a minute or so, you will have a brand new opportunity to think of something brilliant!
Have a good night.

Since I didn''t actually enter anything, these aren''t outtakes, but....

This first one was something like what I was hoping to get:

I love the sheet of water in the front, the stark grey background, and the cool blue of the sky through the water in the background. But a hand is terribly boring!

Good thing I didn''t enter, though, cause there were lots of other folks with similar ideas that did it better.

One of my "fallback" choices was this Digital Photo. Fortunately, I was able to submit something completely different, since I'm sure everyone else is tired of pictures of Isaac's hands too...

I briefly skimmed the other entries, and I am envious of you! My shot pales in comparisson. Oh well, next challenge....

It really doesn''t bother me all that much to be low in the polls. :o) SOMEONE is gonna be ranked low no matter what so not having a perfect photo isn''t gonna stop me from participating. You will at least get some feedback and learn what not to do next time (like not tilting the camera).

I am about ready to give it up. 8 voters, and I am at 4.5, and of course, no comments. This is a shot my wife and I would both like on my wall. My only regret is, I wish I would have cropped it. But, I have no idea if that would actually help.

Heh, I know how you feel... I was pretty happy with my photo for this week, I still am... my family thought it looked really cool...

but so far it has an average of 4.4 after about 7 voters last I checked :(

Oh well... on to...

FEAR!!! (that will be fun!)

I've got 7 votes with a 3.8....Yuck - Well If everyone falls below us, we could all walk away with ribbons.....

I was nicely surprised for once. 5.933 after 15 votes and 1 very nice comment. I'll enjoy it this week but next week I may bow out. Fear just doesn't sound like fun.

Here we are with 20 votes cast and my 10-year-old is beating me by .6 of a point! We're both excited just to be competing.

As for fear, it may be just a picture of him, the superior photographer!

I am also surprised. I know mine is pretty abstract, but I thought it was a really good photo. So far, I have a 6.278 out of 36 votes. That to me is just tops! I really worked hard at this one. Three separate days of shooting and with each one, I learned what was wrong with the last one (and don't forget about the cats knocking everything over).

I haven't the chance to vote just yet, but I did take a quick glance - the voting this week will be a long process for me - but I can't wait.

Great job to everyone!

Must starting thinking about that FEAR! - how about a shot of the computer screen with the home page displaying the votes! haha

LOL! That's pretty funny! And too true!

I'm having a rough time thinking of how to portray fear.... may have to skip this one - for the first time since I started at dpchallenge 8 weeks ago! :(
