I vote 100% in every challenge, so no offense but I won't display the award on my profile page.....it would be loaded down with them if there were one for voting 100% on each challenge!

Good idea to get this thread going Judi! It is nice to see those stats and the involvement of everyone on the site to make things happen around here.

KarenNfld...I don't mind if you don't display the ribbon...the biggest reward is knowing within yourself that you reached a goal...and in doing so, you got to see some amazing images as well as gave some people a little bit of hope. I have been nothing so much positiveness appearing in both threads since I started this voting challenge. People are getting more votes and most scores are improving. That is fantastic. So everyone...give yourselves a big pat on the back. You are all awesome.

Me too. I thought that's what everyone does when they vote. ???

It's cool though if it helps to make everyone happy. :-)

Some excellent work here. Ranked as I always do, with extra emphasis on technique and choice of subject as one that would be enhanced with that type of processing. Subtle HDR and over the top HDR both worked for me, key was that the HDR complemented rather than overwhelmed the image.

Here's the breakdown:
10-1, 9-3, 8-10, 7-27, 6-57, 5-22, 4-25, 3-9, 2-0, 1-0

Will try to get back and comment on some individual images time permitting.

My usual method has been to vote my 20%, but comment very heavily on those. I have taken lately to doing lighter commenting while I vote, but then after voting the whole challenge, giving additional feedback to those who want it.

I always go back a couple of times to fine tune my votes. Nothing goes lower, only up!
It seems that there are fewer low votes since judi posted her voting challenge.

I think the more generous voters are just getting out prior to the last minute.

I think more people are voting and the ones that vote low on propouse (if that exists) are not making so much difference, because there are few of them.
This thread was a great idea and i think this challenge will be really fair to the entrys. Another thing is that when so much people vote, a lot of them start to comment too. Like me, as a neurotic, i voted all the images but HAD to comment 19 so far, especially for the low votes, which i don't feel confortable to give one whithout giving my point of view too.

I have just woken up and come into DPC and have seen what an awesome job you have all done. I am fully aware that some of you always vote 100% on challenges...and I am proud of you all for that. My aim was to encourage others to vote as well....especially ones that either don't vote at all or only vote a portion of the entries....but at the same time, to leave you all feeling like winners after taking the time to see the wonderful entries. I know that all challenges have awesome entries but I know myself, that often I don't get the time to vote...and I realise how much I am missing out on seeing those images a little bit closer. And I figured that others would be in the same boat.

Since this thread has been started, I have been blown away by the positive vibe across the site and the amount of votes and high votes at that. I didn't intend for people to just go in there to vote highly....that would be breaching the rules to tell people to do that. Instead I wanted people to go and see the images and vote how they see them....but thy are coming out with high voting averages....and that is truly amazing....I am so happy for what you are all doing.

Thankyou to everyone....you truly are an amazing group.

Yes, mine doesn't really count because if I vote I do vote 100%, and tend to comment 10-20%. But you did kick me into gear - I haven't been voting lately, so that part counts! :-)
09/15/2009 05:54:12 PM · #47
I voted, and commented, 100%. However, my comments are 98% copy/paste, so it's not so amazing. lol.

I don't want the graphic though. I just saw this and realized I hadn't voted in a long time. I think some people hope I don't vote again for a long time.

You have given an average score of (ummmm, a bit lower than most of you. I'm embarrased to say....)

* edited to add. Not terribly low average vote. not troll low. just lower than the average votes I've been seeing in this thread.

Don't worry about it. You are entitled to your opinion, and we all know how you feel about the genre now. You are not the only one, just the only one to express it in comments. I commend you for setting the example.

I would suggest, however, staying away from that dimly lit alley behind the camera shop.

Oh, I don't think it can be presumed that anyone knows how I feel about the genre. Although you could make some seriously well-informed guesses about how I feel about particular applications of processing TO the genre :D
