Can someone explain something to me? The current HDR challenge allows 720 pixels on the long side, which I submitted, but the preview images, both on the image submission page and on the "preview your entry" page show the images resized down to 656 pixels on the long side. The resizing also messed with the sharpness of my image in a very unacceptable way. OK, I thought to myself, let me just submit an image that is 656 pixels on the long side. When I do that, it too, gets resized down smaller.

Am I missing something? Has this always happened? What is the point of allowing a 720 pixel image if it is not going to be displayed at that size? maybe I never noticed this before but now I have a colorful, eye poppin' sharp entry that looks all muddy and less sharp. :(

Thanks in advance for some insight.

oh, and I see that the actual image stored on the server is in fact 720 pixels and looks nice and sharp and clear (did a right-click and "view image" in the browser), but the web page is resizing it smaller.

Hmmm...something is seriously messed up. The site doesn't auto resize challenge entries. So, either you are somehow actually uploading the smaller image or you have some sort of browser problem, I'd say. I just did a test entry into HDR, all is good. No resizing.

Edit...so it sounds like a browser problem. Do you get the same behavior in different browsers? Anything else look small?

hmm, definitely seems to be an issue for me in Firefox - but it all looks correct in Safari. Guess I better start looking through my add-ons to see what muight be messing with my browser...

Perhaps it is as simple as going to view -> zoom in? Maybe it is just set to view at a different size right now? I don't know if that will fix it but it seems like the simplest thing and a good place to start.

thanks Scott. I am indeed truly a moron and your simple suggestion fixed my issue. I was not at the default zoom level in Firefox. I'll crawl back under my rock now...
