About to start, and the webinar session appears to have capped at 1,000 users. You can still listen and "kinda watch" on the tinychat interface. If you're trying to log in to webinar, keep re-trying and you might grab a spot if someone drops.

I tried to join the tinychat, but can't connect to the server. Either it's too busy or our firewall may block it. I was too late to get in the first 1000 in gotomeeting. Maybe next week.

This weeks class was about the Basics, but I still learned a thing or two I didn't know. Interesting, and he explains things very well. I connected about an hour early to the webinar and to tinychat. Can't wait for next week - LAYERS!! He says even if you THINK you know layers, he'll show you at least 25 things about layers you didn't know...now that should be interesting!

Hope to see more of you there next week...but really...get there early! Even if you just sign on, then do other stuff 'til the class starts.

I am using the latest Element program---do you think I could apply some of the knowledge to that program too?

This was brought up several times today. Yes, absolutely. He's using and teaching CS4, so the interface will look a little different, but virtually all of the concepts and methods he will teach can be applied in Elements; up until the more advanced topics. Seeing the advanced topics in CS4 will still "rub off" on how you can utilize what's available in Elements, though.

So, short answer -- yes.

If anyone missed the class last week, Creativetechs has put it up online for free viewing until Sept 10th.

They had so many issues with the webinar 1,000-viewer cap, they have begun to put the classes up online for a week after they "air" the first time so folks can catch them even if they cannot connect to the live session. They might continue this for subsequent classes -- definitely worth watching to see if they continue for future classes.

You can view the videos from the training page.

Something got flubbed up in the recording of today's class (intro to layers) -- and it will be rerun in a few hours later tonight (or today, depending on where you are)... ;)

Details here

Was a great intro to layers, and lots of shortcuts and tips covered for those who are already experienced -- highly recommended.

Had several tech issues today -- including losing power to the presentation computer at one point! Doh! Lots of gremlins today.

Keep an eye on the training page for a link to the video -- I expect they will post most of today's class online for review for the next 7 days.

Finishing Q&A now.

As for "already" over? It's been 2 hours -- I think everyone is worn out! ;)

Will you offer another one?

Oh, my -- I think you misunderstood. Sorry -- *Today's* class is finished. It's a 6-month course. Classes are held each week at the same time. Details, schedule and sign up form are in the links in the original post.

Also, it's not "me" who is offering it -- I'm just the messenger. I found one of this group's earlier photography classes via a DPC thread, and thought it was a great class. I've continued to update several DPC new threads on other classes they have, in case others here want to attend. I have nothing to do with the classes themselves, other than being an attendee myself.

You can watch any of the upcoming classes free in real time when they are broadcast and recorded. If you wish to purchase the classes download for viewing any time you wish (including all past videos which have already been recorded), you'll need to buy them from creativetechs. Details on how to purchase the records on on the web page referenced in the original post.

Bump - starting today's class now. Fun/Brushes/Scrap-booking stuff today.

Due to technical problems with the webinar host, class is restarting now (30 minutes past the hour), and is only being broadcast on the live feed.
