I have a question:

If f.ex. the moon is a bit burned out in a picture, can it be replaced by a moon from a different framing, taken 30 minutes earlier, and used in a challenge where "advanced editing" is allowed?

All answers appreciated.

ummm...for a definitive answer submit a ticket to SC and ask the question.

Don't think so.

You may not:

....
*
add graphics, clip art, computer-rendered images or parts of other photographs to your entry or its border during editing (except for combining photos as allowed by the multiple capture rules above).

You must:

*
create your entry from 1-10 captures of a single scene (defined as a scene whose composition/framing does not change). All captures used must be shot within the challenge submission dates.
