i really enjoyed your step by step approach on how get your watch "ad" to work. You are amazing. I didn't notice half the stuff on the pictures until you mentioned them. you have a good eye.

thanks for the tips on how to do stuff like that.

Fantastic shot and a very good tuturial.

Just would like to add something: when shooting watches, allways try to do it with the hands at "ten past ten" (or "ten to two") that way the hands don't cover any details in the face.

Thanks all..... From what I remember, the hands actually did start at 10 & 2 :) Picking the watch up to fix the time before the final shot would have messed up the placement (was hard getting it to sit right with the links in the bracelet).

great photo, next time dont´t forget to put the clock at 1:50 Hs and the seconder at 12 or 6, they give balance.

Here is a link to an easy homemade Lightbox I found recently. I have not made one yet but will be soon.

Hi, I am a newcomer in a photography. I took the before edit image of watch from your tutorial and followed editiong instructions as you described using photoshop. I could get the brightness and color balance as good as youe final image but I couldn't make the watch as sharper as your final image. Especially the date and other printed numbers and text. Did I miss something?

Thanks in advance

The biggest difference is you didn't start with the full resolution image, I'd wager.

I like how the "poor man" continues to surprise me with the ways of improvisation.

Nice tut.
