In the UK this weekend -- London GTG

It's a short notice trip and not firmly set in stone, but I plan to be in the UK next week, with time off starting Friday afternoon and not heading back here until Tuesday morning. Anyone up for a mini get-together of some kind?

I figured I'd head down to London (I think it's "down to") on Friday. Which reminds me, I need to check on a place to stay....

We should be off work on the Monday before you go back, we are planning a trip to Kew Gardens. I think the actual weekend will be a non-starter for us.

For work stuff, I'll be at RAF Lakenheath. After that, I'm limited to where I can get to by train or other public transport, as I have no desire to drive on the wrong side of the road. :-)

I lived near Ispwich in the late 70's/early 80's and the tankbusters from Mildenhall and Lakenheath used to use our tractors for target practice. They would fly over us, real low, wave and then do another run at us.

Oops... I was reading this thread and I just accidently reported one of

Lutchenko's posts as spam. I am so sorry Will! I accidently clicked on the window while I was scrolling down, I got the popup on my computer, but without even looking at it I hit "OK" b/c I am so used to this PC having popups come up that I have to acknowledge. Again - so sorry!

I would come to England to apologize to you in person, but Deb won't buy me a ticket!

I did find it funny though - When they implemented the new spam button I was so tempted to click it but I always resisted, but then when I finally did, it wasn't even on purpose - sort of takes the fun out of it!

I will know more tomorrow, but tentatively would like to set up a wander-about for Saturday somewhere in the London vicinity, reachable by tube. And I'm game for wandering slowly as well. Definitely have everyone home by 8 who needs to be, too!

Any suggestions for places to wander about? I do think I'll try to join Steve and Beverly on Monday at the Kew Gardens if they're still going there. So ideas for Saturday?

That's OK, Sarah - I still plan on visiting you where you are, and preferably before it gets cold and dark. :-) I have frequent flyer miles on Lufthansa I have to use, though, so I need to go where they go.
