FYI: Kodak Gallery has launched a "Professional Site" (in Beta-testing) where you can get prints on "true B&W" photo paper at somewhat reasonable prices; they also have prints on their "Endura" Pro Matte and Metallic (glossy) papers, and they offer "free professionbal color-correction" though I haven't seen what they'd do to one of mine yet.
I just got some test prints back;
this was my B&W test image -- both RGB and Grayscale format files looked good, with detail into the shadows.
Some of those printed on the metallic-finish paper looked pretty cool, especially these:
Steam Locomotive -- Painted Lady Butterfly -- Big Sur Coastline -- the prints seem very sharp, and the colors "jump off the page" even more than the typical glossy finish. |

.....
Too hot to breathe these days, waiting for a bit of a letup in the remorseless summer weather. Should come in the first week of August. Editing old shots is about all I'm up for right now. Looking forward to browing this thread today...everything looks delicious. |
