My main request is that people don't cop out and use "Black or White" as an avenue into making this into a free study B&W challenge.. not sure if anyone else feels the same way, but I think that's a bit too easy!

Because it is an expert edit challenge. It will most likely end up looking like a free study no matter what.

Haha.. I don't really know, I haven't been active during any of them. If I'm just way off base with this request, then I guess just ignore what I said earlier. I just figured it might be a bit too easy when converting any image to B&W would fit with that song, but .. maybe I'm just being crazy!

"Dirty Diana" - my wife's name.

I thought of finding a tombstone with another "Michael Jackson" name on it... and using that for "Been" :)

From what I read regarding the challenge description, you can use a song title OR a line of verse.

Challenge description: "A tribute to the king of pop, choose one line or title from a Michael Jackson song and make it come to life in a photograph. The title or lyric will form your title."

Just a thought, you know, to help keep this more of a Free Study. :-P

How many of these pictures will be of scared innocent little children? MJ was a monster.

Overheard yesterday in NYC:
"Macy's is having a sale in honor of Michael Jackson."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah -- boys pants, half-off."

I predict at least one intentional brownie effort in this challenge, with the title of "Bad".

OMG when I saw Expert Editing I let out a huge "WOO HOO." How fitting that we will have the ability to "transform" an image, just like he did to himself and the music world. YAY YAY YAY

Serius/XM even has a Tribute channel 62, so I'll be listening and thinking of songs and lyrics. Don't forget, he was in the Jackson 5 as well, so I would think that songs they sung would be appropriate as well.

Not so sure about that one. Not a fan, but reports are he was just very disturbed, but actually never caused harm to a child. Who knows though.

Nobody would defend him if he wasn't a pop star. If he was some normal dude, his name would be posted on a police website and he would de-value the neighberhoods that he lived in. Since he was a pop star we have to make allowances for him and try to understand where he is coming from. Nope, any other person would have been found guilty because they would not have the money to pay off people to save his image.

Had he not been forced by his father to be that pop star and support the steel workers' salary, I don't think he would have had the Peter Pan syndrome either. It's all up for debate, but no matter which side you're on, I still like his music. Let's not turn this into an argument.

Where was it PROVEN he did what he is accused of doing? Pop-star or no, I'm for innocent until PROVEN guilty.

We have corporations paying claims all the time when they aren't truly liable -- just to avoid the publicity. I prefer to not look at this with any bias.

I'm curious what this means?

I think that statement you are questioning was made with a cynical attitude that did not carry across. Jason is saying it is not right for him to be judged differently from Joe Average.
