Do any of you guys sell some of the prints. I'm probably going to subscribe to the site, and although it's not a factor in my decision. I'M simply wondering if some people are actually buying prints.

And if they do buy some, are they only members of DPC or is it mostly members?

I have sold two of this one :

And would hope this shameless advertising here might draw attention to my two new prints for sale :

I sold one of this one:

And as the same for willem, these prints are newly for sale at a lowered price:

Todate, I have only sold one print of this shot

My prints have only been up for sale for less than a year.

Recent additions are ( more shameless advertising):

I've sold five prints. Profit = almost enough to pay for the membership renewal :-)

PS. And as far as I know, there's no way of finding out who bought your prints.

I hope to, maybe someday, sell a print or two. I am fairly confident that I will, it's just a matter of time and getting the right shot for someone.

I've made $23.77 from selling my own pics. (31 total sales)
I've gotten $15.70 from referrals on other sales. (18 total sales)
I made $50 in a DPCPrints contest.
-----------------
$89.47 total haul from DPCP.

Yep, worth it for me. I just renewed membership last month or so.

What was the time period this took? Was it over the course of one quarter or did it take two or three quarters?
05/13/2004 08:59:42 AM · #9
I've sold one of each of these:

No idea who bought the second one, but the buyer of the first emailed me because it was exactly what she was looking for. She just randomly found it by searching the web.

I have noticed that one person tends to visit my page every day, which is a little weird. Only reason I know its the same is because their IP comes up daily when I look at my referrals.. and while the total number of hits go up, the total unique hits doesn't. Very odd.

Maybe more folks will find something of mine to purchase, would be nice!

Is it not your own IP address ?

How do you make money from referral on other sales ?

And what is this DPCPrints contest ?
05/13/2004 10:34:23 AM · #13
The contest was a one time thing. Don't know if and when there might be more.

You get referrals if someone goes onto DPCPrints following a link directly to your store, but then ends up buying from someone else's store.

my direct link is //karenb.dpcprints.com

I have made referral sales, as well as having sold the following prints in sizes ranging from 4X5 to 20X20. :)
Thanks to all those who have bought them who might be reading this! :)

I sold two 4x5's of "Software Debugging":

I've lowered most of my prices in my store recently, as I am more interesting in gauging response to them by selling them than making money at this point.

As for shameless plugs, I am selling this one for my daughter. We have one 11x14 in our kitchen and it gets a lot of attention. If you're interested, she'd be thrilled to be sold. If the price is to high, let me know. I think for her to it would be the "thrill of knowing someone liked her stuff enough to buy it!" (Though as a young teen, she does like money. ;-)

Print Sales Profit : $107.59

That's my list of sales since April last year. Definatly enough profit to cover membership fees :)

05/13/2004 11:08:17 AM · #16
I have sold 23 prints since April of last year.
$84.24 from prints
$16.80 for referrals

One thing I have noticed is they don't buy my favorite. Some of the prints I didn't think would even sell.

Here are the prints that I sold:
They range from 4x5's-16x20's

I just sold 2 16x20 of this one.
I believe they even bought a frame with one of them.

I sold this one 4 times

05/13/2004 11:51:36 AM · #17
I've sold four. One from a DPC member (thanks, Soni!), and three from someone who had seen my images on pbase. The hardest part, at least for me, is knowing which images people will want to buy.

Great photos everyone! I am trying to sell my prints. I only have 5 up so far and have sent the link around to family and friends, but so far no bites. I really hope that one day some internet surfer will discover a photo he/she likes and buy it.

I have a question:
What sizes & correlating prices did your prints sell for (for those of you who sold prints)? I have looked at the pricing for similar prints (to ones I am selling) and most around in my range, but I don't know if those I compared mine to are even selling.

Another question, I have tried to put a thumbnail in a post before, but it didn't work. Can someone help me here?

1) open your image and check the 5 digit number shown in the web address.
2) write your post and then click on the right of the 5 icons just above the text. (insert thumbnail link to site image).
3) type or paste the number of the box that appears
and click OK

I have a few personal prints for family to buy,
One of my concerns is,
Theres a lot of prints from different members of trains but I can only get 7 when I do a search.
I was hoping to be able to link to all train related photos in 1 page.

trains

You missed one of mine. And I know why: try searching for "train" rather than trains.

ahha... thankyou train gets 2 pages full!

I am going to go find some buyers for all and hopefully get enough referral money to buy some prints for me.....

I hope to increase my sales since I started THIS! :-)
