You can't delete a vote, you can only change it. Once you've voted on an image, it stays voted-on-by-you no matter what you do. Unless you vote on fewer than the minimum 20%, in which case all your votes do get deleted at rollover...

For whatever that's worth :-)

Of course I'm sure we all agree that for every 'troll' vote of '1'we deem should be removed from the final vote then a vote of '10' should also be removed this most likely giving you the same average.

That said I too hate the 3 or 4 votes of one most images might garnish however, if I'm truly honest I wouldn't give any of my shots a ten vote either.

discuss further....

I take everything as they come. No score makes me feel anything other than "hm, so that's how it goes this time eh?"

That's my new-ish philosophy.

Well, that and not entering challenges at all.

Maybe then we could see if low votes still continue in this section compared to the open sections.
Would be interesting to see.

I was under the impression that's how it worked? Only members can vote in member challenges.

I'm just a registered user and I can see, but not vote in the member challenges.
Whilst I understand how important it is to weed out the "troll votes", it's also best not to penalise the other users.

I'm just trying this for a while and if I enjoy it, I'll buy into the membership. But even if I do, I'd still say that just because a minority of users abuse the system, doesn't mean the system should abuse all users.

I'm not so worried about votes these days, although sitting at 6.4 / 6.5 / 6.6+ for 6 days then being hit by a barrage of 1s and 2s does leave a slightly bitter taste and when they are within an hour or so of each other you have to wonder if they are the same person with several accounts... I guess it may just be coincidence though...

I admit I haven't read this {entire} thread, but I think it's a bad idea to suggest people only be allowed to vote if they have submitted a certain number of entries, or that people only be allowed to vote after a 30-day post-registration wait.

Thanks to the side challenge that Mr. ROTFLMAO has graciously started, this problem has been solved.

You may all return to your homes and workplaces now.

I've been watching my Still Life score rather closely of late (sad I know) and just got a 1. A quick look online revealed a new registered user with 227 votes (Still Life 164 + I Quit 63 = 227) and an average of 2.49. No entries, threads, portfolio or any other contribution other than to decimate your hard earned scores.

So if your Still Life or I Quit score has recently plumeted, I probably know who is to blame. I have informed the SC and I hope they act.

Grrr!

Interesting... My likely troll is also a relatively new user who hasn't entered a challenge and hasn't posted in a forum and has a very low average. only 175 votes. wonder if they keep creating new accounts to troll from.
