How many people who submit and participate here have education in the arts or degrees in art?
Just a curiosity question.
In case anybody is curious, I have undergraduate minors in art/art history and music.

| I have a Master of Fine Arts degree. Added a computer to my toolbox in 1980. The main advantage to a formal education in the Arts is seeing a lot of different art, getting a perspective. Photography is very new, computers used for artistic purposes even newer. We are right out there on the old cutting edge. |

| i took an art class in high school that spent maybe 3 or 4 weeks on photography. my BS and MS are in Engineering. i suppose some of the crap i threw on a breadboard, or some of the pretty pictures that popped out of matlab could be considered art ;) |

But in my defense, there is some 'art' to the science I do. Scientific 'artwork' is the bread & butter of a junior exploration company, as we're in the business of financing through selling a dream. The 'scientific artwork' I help to create has earned tens of millions of dollars to sell dreams. None of them have ever come true. But maybe someday.

| I have a bachelors in Business Management and am working on my MBA, but the only art I had out of high school, was one film photography course about 20 years ago. |

No training.... And it shows....
I'm testing the theory that if you gave enough monkeys cameras, and they took enough pictures, some of them would be really good.
I just haven't taken enough pictures, yet.

| I have a Bachelor of Arts (major in English Literature, minor in French language) and a Bachelor of Education. But no artistic training or experience at all. I take a lot of photos but I do not consider myself to be artistic. I suck at setting up shots, I am the type who sees something nice and shoots it but can't make something nice. |

Dual majors in Maths & Computing.... Would not know art if I fell over it.....

| Accounting and computer programming, but that was just to make money. My hobbies have always been on the artistic side. Cake/cookie baking and decorating, painting, photography, various crafts. I've always made "pin" money off my hobbies though. |
