Hi Folks,

Just want to have someone perhaps clear something up here.

The recent Postcard III challenge stated you can use 'Advanced Editing*' - Whilst checking the rules it states you cannot use text or borders during editing, however the extra rule allows for text to be added but i do not see where it allows for borders.

Am i missing something here? If the rules clearly state that a border cannot be added and it is not clearly covered by the extra rule, then there are a lot of images that would be disqualified for their use of a border.

I might be wrong here, thats cool, i didnt enter the challenge but felt it was important enough to mention as i know a lot of people in the past have be disqualified for less.

If i have missed something here then i am happy to stand here and be corrected.

"You May

- add a border to the outside edge of your entry. Your border must be distinct and clearly recognizable as a border."

from the rules for Advanced Editing

Borders are allowed in both basic and advanced editing, always have been. Not sure what you're reading, but you're misinterpreting it...

You may not:
- add text to your entry or its border during editing. This includes copyright statements.

I thought it was strange how so many people had borders, lol. Thanks for pointing it out to me, i had clearly missed it first time around. **slaps myself silly**

There was an extra rule that allowed text to be added to this particular challenge, threrfore overwriting the no text rule, either on the photo or in the border.

The rule is saying you may not add text to a border. Its just covering a potential loophole.
