I have put together a collage that consists of all the photographs that was entered in the 1000th challenge. I would like to place it on DPCPrints.com so anyone that would like to obtain a full size version could have access one. Doing so would require consent from every photographer that entered a photograph in the 1000th challenge at DPChallenge.com and this is where I need your help.

I did not take the time to do this to make money off the challenge or anyone’s photograph. I took this task on to try to give back to the community. I would like to place the collage on DPCPrints.com and offer the collage at DPCPrints.com[s] cost. Hopefully langdon and I can get together to see what we can do. I have sent him a PM asking him to view the first thread and there will be a link placed in that thread referring to this one.

In the meantime I need your help to get the full size version to print. Please read the release form below and if you would be so kind to give permission to use your photograph in the collage, the community and I thank you. If you do not wish to give consent please fill in the bottom form and PM it to me. But I hope you will consider as it is for our site and community.

Thanks,
Scott Whiddon (SDW)

I'd hate to be your in box! LOL! Good luck keeping track of all those numbers. Just curious, and I hope it doesn't happen, but what will you do if someone doesn't consent? BTW - consent sent! Good luck!

While creating the collage I thought about that so I save the 1 GB .psd file complete with all 1130 layers named by picture ID_# and background layer. I can just go to the layer which is named accordingly and blur it so it will not be recognizable if the photographer wishes not to give his or her permission.

Before this thread and the last time I checked I had 56 approvals and 1 non-approval.

Good Lord... have you slept in the last few weeks?!?! That must have taken a long time to complete.

Sent my approval :)

Good luck with collecting the permissions Scott!

(maybe Langdon can help you out here, with an email to everyone who entered the challenge?)

My approval is on the way. What a great idea! Perhaps your one hold-out will reconsider. This may be the only image of mine I ever see sold.

I would PM every photographer that entered the challenge but it maybe a violate DPChallenge.com[s] TOS because it could be considered as bulk or spam email. So if langdon has not emailed me by tomorrow then I plan on asking for his help. I hope he will consider.

UPDATE: 139 permission granted (Current Server Time: 03/29/2009 12:17:58 AM EDT.)

I can't understand why anyone would decline permission to be included. It is a site milestone and a great way to be part of it.

Scott does things his way, he is ready to help others and never asks for any help. During the time of his recent troubles, he never asked for any help, assistance or donations. He is one of DPC great guys and I wish more members were like him.

I have never meet him and probably never will, but I know that anything he does for this site is for everyones benefit, there is no question of ego or point scoring. I would ask those who entered this challenge to support him.

Thanks Scott for all you have done here and those you have helped. You are one of a kind, sadly not in majority here, but I know you have many friends here.

Thanks Steve!

They user that did not want to give permission had a valid reason and I honored his request just like I will anyone else. I will not call out any names or photographs of anyone that wishes not to participate. I will go back and adjust the collage to accommodate their request. However, I do hope the majority allows this project to go to print. I consider it a commemorative piece that shows how far this site has come.

Again thanks everyone.

Maybe Langdon could put a 'Message' on the home page that everyone would see. He could tie it to his current message about the 1000th Challenge.

I was out of town and didn't get to enter one. I'd be glad to let you have my photo that I was going to enter to make up for the person that declined.
Just to keep it even.
