Just set up a website - and would appreciate any feedback.

The "Weddings - Pregnancy - Family Portraits - Events - Music - " links at the top of the home page don't work.

The watermarks are WAY TOO INTRUSIVE. I could look at 3 or 4 photos before I just gave up. I would tone them down a bit, or just lose them completely and only put small rez photos up.

I have to agree with Moose on the water marks. Hard to get past them and enjoy the photos.

Agree on the watermarks. I also don't like the navigation over the top of an image on the homepage, too busy IMO.

If you are worried about people stealing the images that much, just don't post them.

The fact is that people steal images from the internet. Should we let those who infringe on our rights use your statement to justify their actions.

My position is that we shouldn't.

Ok, then post them without the watermarks. I am not saying don't post, but why bother when you have giant watermarks shooting through the image?

Awesome website, did you put it together with your own software or did the site have templates? The reason I ask is, I've been trying to master my own website and can't get it to flow like that.

You are a talented photographer,no doubt. I love the biking shots with the sunflowers and grass in the foreground.

Thanks for all the feedback
The website (mr site - link at the bottom of the page) is a template and very easy to use. I agree with the watermar - I was lazy when setting it up and as such used the standard watermark in the template. I will correct to be less intrusive.

That will really help the site out. In my opinion a photography site is all about the photos and they should be the only thing that attracts your eye. With big watermarks the website was all about the watermarks because that was the first thing that I would see.

I`m with Jason on this one, watermarks look awful. To be honest the site needs a lot of tarting up, have you got a more emotive image to use on that frontpage - to me it just screams "Band Photographer", but looking at sub headings it seems you do "moms, tots" etc.. That front pic has no wow factor at all.. you need to grab em by the balls when they first enter the site.

"- Weddings - Pregnancy - Family Portraits - Events - Music -"

Nope, none of those hit me when when I first visit your site.. also, get yourself a `proper` email address sorted out, just having your gmail address stinks of amateurishness(if that is a word), having `info@eyeseeyouphotography.co.nz` would be far better.

Hope the criticism helps..

One other thing..

"Mailing List

Leave you name and number here and I will give you a call"

Lose it - looks & sounds dreadful.

And the page counter - if you are interested in seeing how many hits you have had then try www.statcounter.com - its free and you dont have to have a visible counter. Also it only records each visitors - not actual times the page has loaded. I just refreshed 3 times on your main page and the counter went up by three, so its not really giving you a true reading of visits to you page.... Your potential clients dont care how many hits you have had.

If you dont want to try statcounter then use google analytics.
