Do you need to keyword your photo's before uploading to a site like shutterstock? Can it be done on the site itself instead of embedding it in the metadata? The reason I ask is I have no clue how to do this even after reading the other thread on this topic.

Most sites have a means to add/change keywords once the image has been uploaded, but if you go that route, you'll have to enter them for each site.

Keywords are better added to the image before you save the final edited image. They are in a field of the IPTC data; you can get to it in Photoshop (File Info) or using a utility like IrfanView -- if you have several similar images you can batch-edit them.
