I'm thinking about putting together another GTG for the people that live in the GA/AL area.
Last year we did a ATL GTG and although I personally had a good time I don't think everyone else did so I was thinking about doing a more interactive GTG for anyone that would like to go.

I don't have a date yet but I would like to do this before it gets too hot outside. I would like to capture the great outdoors or maybe go on a hiking/photography trip.

Thoughts, ideas, anyone really...
I'm 100% open to all idea's.

For everyone else that has been on a GTG what was the best part? or what do you wish you would have done during your GTG that you didn't get a chance to do?

I'd definitely be interested. I just don't know much about things down around the GA/AL line, so I'd like to see what you have in mind.

You know some type of work shop wouldn't be a bad idea. Maybe we could do a trash the dress session with some models from MM (TFCD of course) and have a ton of photogrs shoot it...

Okay what about Mobile, AL?

We could photograph the city, some history, maybe a river.

Lets say we go on Apr, 11th. Link

Or on the 18th - Link

I am up for either. I haven't been to Callaway in a bunch of years, but I also have never been over to Mobile. Just keep me posted. My weekends should be pretty free after this week. I have an event to shoot at the end of April. Just let me know. Also, did you get my PM? Let me know if you're wedding materializes.

I'm curious, what sort of feedback did you get from people on last year's GTG? Maybe you could find out from them what they didn't like. Or maybe they enjoyed it more than you think.

I think Callaway would be perfect right now. I would love to meet fellow DPC'ers. My email is lazzy069@yahoo.com. (My private message thingy may not work)

I've been so out of DPC lately I never got around to planning this. The summer is coming up and it's already warm here so if we do a GTG it will have to be in the fall or closer to winter. I don't enjoy walking around in the GA weather.

If someone else wants to take the lead by all means but If I put something together it won't be until late Oct to early Nov.

FWIW I've put together a couple Ottawa-area GTGs and try to get a feel from others as to what they would like to shoot; usually try to get a blend of rural/urban settings to keep everyone happy.

One gtg started off at a historic site with gardens and a cemetery, but we also wandered down to the Rideau River and got shots of ducks/swans. Then we went back to the historic site and went inside to shoot there too.

Only problem is, I think that once you start to organize gtgs, others look to you to do the organizing as opposed to taking the initiative and suggesting/organizing a gtg themselves.
