I've found that getting a 'favourite' can do a lot to make me feel better about a low scoring image.

Share your lowest scoring image which has been given 'favourite' status by some kind soul.

Here's mine:

I look forward to seeing yours!

Well, this picture of a lime in "Long Exposure" this past September came in just one shy of a brown ribbon, but got a fave from sweet pixelpig. Actually, most of my really low-scoring images have a fave or 3 attached to them, but this is the most recent. My lowest-ever (the infamous self-portrait as raindrop) actually has 13 faves...

This is my lowest scoring photo of all time:

Quite strange, the person who marked this as a favourite has only commented on one photo, this one. He has only marked one photo as a favourite, this one. He has never entered a challenge or voted.

As I don't have that many faves in any case, I am always surprised when I get one. I was very surprised to get 2 during the challenge for this middle of the road image. This is my lowest scoring fave.

My lowest scoring image with a favorite. It was a misunderstood image, 'cept by one good person.

Wow this photo is sooooo old! Its image #1427.

This photo was sooooo misunderstood!! I got blasted for thinking a dog was a toy. Trust me, I am a responsible dog owner who was only playing on the fact that this was a "toy" breed dog. Funny me, I thought it was a cute play on words. I do not think dogs are toys. OK, so now that my disclaimer has been posted, here's the shot :-)

Easy! It's also my lowest score.

When I first joined, I thought an abstract concept might be sufficient, Naaah!

Strangely enough, my lowest photo is also the only photo i have that is favourited more than once!

I am ecstatic when i get a fave.

Then again, it was Art who faved it, so I'm not sure if that counts :)

eta; My 1000th challenge entry will actually be my lowest with a fave, but I can't show that one yet

At a 3.65, this was a pretty low scoring entry, and got two faves.

No surprise that CharlieBaker was one of the two who faved it. I consider that a high compliment.

The first three are all last-place finishers which have been marked as favorites multiple times, the last one finished three from the bottom:

Yeah, Paul, I loved that atom bomb/mushroom shot! Actually surprised to see I hadn't favorite'd it b/c it is a memorable shot. And Karen, if 5.1 is your lowest shot in 178 challenges that's quite a feat!

This is my lowest scoring shot with a fave, though I believe it was low scoring b/c of DNMC rather than objective criteria (not that I think it's a brilliant shot or anything but not deserving of so many 1's). I have another low score DNMC shot but after that is my "truest" lowest score + Fave, and I gotta say I like the shot too.

I've only gotten 1 fav in a challenge, and that was my highest scoring...

But! I have received a fav in the current 100 year old challenge--and I never dreamed that that shot would ever get a fav! I thought it was a nice, but dull, shot.

Thanks! It is indeed my lowest score and I haven't self-DQ'ed anything for scoring low either.

hah do people actually do that?? That's ridiculous. I'm proud of my crappy shots :P

This is where I learned something. Don't put fun but technically imperfect studio shots of toddlers in a Free Study! lol.

I would really like to know what it is with DPCers and blown highlights. It's almost an automatic "OMG! BLOWN HIGHLIGHTS! BAD!!!" They never, with a few exceptions, even stop to consider that it was used on purpose for impact.

Alas, trying to teach them such things is fruitless too, I think. hehe.

My lowest score with a favorite. 4.6

03/15/2009 02:52:56 PM · #21
Favorites are important. I often go thru my favorites, many of them represent the style I wish I had. My lowest scoring image got one fav, I like to think by someone with a great sense of humor. Out of 25 photos picked as a fav by someone, 9 of them were in a challenge.

My Second lowest scoring image. 4.8 I got 2 favourites.
My wife will kill me for bringging this up into the light again but I still think it's a decent image if not technically so good, at least on an artistic level

4.6, 2 favs. I believe it scored low because many people wished he was dead. ;-)

not sure what a "favourite" is, but this is my lowest scoring shot that got a favorite: ;-)

I really hated this one too.

It always feels good when a picture you yourself like, but doesn't do well, gets a couple favourites.
