Chrome right now, but eventually I'll probably head back to the IE camp.

I don't have IE7 right now and have done without for a while. My IE6 is a flaming pile of crap. It fails to start about 80% of the time. I cannot figure out why and mIcroSchloft isn't able to keep the same person working on the case for more than 2 emails. I got bounced around to 14 different MS staffers over 16 different emails regarding the issues.

I stuck with IE6 when I redid my OS with my last on board HD upgrade because it's smaller and lighter than 7.

I dislike the amount of space that Chrome uses on C. It eats up 500 MB in a few hours for absolutely nothing. Irritating since I like to keep my C very small and only have 900MB as float after all my main programs are installed.

I use it because I am just finishing up a project to learn C programming by updating an old online game (I've written almost 25% of the current code base) and had to document a lot of stuff on forums. The drag to expand text box has been extremely handy.

It chokes on Flash a lot which sucks for when I'm learning a new song on guitar too.

You'd have to be crazy to use anything other than Firefox.

What specific issues have you had with IE7? Not dismissing your complaint, I'm mostly curious. I've been using IE7 the last couple of months and haven't had any problems...

Well, on an individual scale it has worked fine for me personally, but on a whole it's been rough to use at the office.

Some of the issues I've had (and I may just not know how to resolve them properly) have dealt with the fact that IE is too closely married to the Windows OS. The issue I've had is that it conflicts terribly with Windows Update (another rant aside). If your IE is having issues then WU can be very diffiucult to work with.

The other issue I've had is with ActiveX, random shutdowns that have messed with the current instance of the OS's stability, java issues (could not get certain sites to work, then when I tried in FF, worked fist time). Then there was that serious security hole about 2 months ago (each browser has it's own though).

I'm not saying that any browser is foolproof. I just know that I have had less with some than others. But I think IE's problem, for me anyways, is how too closely married it is to Window's OS issues.

I'm not like a super expert or anything, but that's just been my experience.

Do you mean besides the fact its not even close to being compliant? M$ marches to the beat of its own drum and the sooner they stop trying to buck the system and adopt standards the happier everyone will be.

Just our of curiosity, with what is IE not compliant? Could you give me an example(s)? What standards do you feel they should adopt?
