Okay, I've had this camera for just over a month now, and am absolutely bowled over by it. I thought I'd post some pictures I've taken with it and give a review.

Pros:
Incredible price for a camera with these specifications.
VERY sharp Leica lens.
Looks great.
HUGE zoom lens: 35-420 35mm equivalent.
Image Stabilisation which works superbly. Either use it in wide angle when it's dark, or to stabilise the zoom in low-light. In wide angle, I can get usable 1 second shots!
Great colour reproduction.
Highly versatile white balance settings.
Fully manual options.
Proprietary lithium battery lasts ages and is cheap off EBay.
Good macro.

Cons:
Limited metering options. I tend to use the focus switch on the side of the lens which activates the auto focus, and use spot metering. There is no average metering which uses the whole frame.
Images can sometimes be a little noisy, but I find NeatImage can take care of it easily.
No RAW or TIFF.
Menu can be a little fiddly... settings such as exposure can be buried a little deep in the menu structure which should be accessible with one button.

The cons are all things I can live with and I am very pleased with the camera indeed.

Here's some pictures:

Some of these have had the Photoshop treatment, some almost none at all.
Please bear in mind that this is a brand new camera for me and I'm still learning how to get the best from it.

Your pictures are great. In some part you are the reason that I also purchased a Panasonic FZ10 just two weeks ago. I do a lot of shooting through the car window while my husband is driving (he actually will pull over to let me take pictures - but gets too impatient to wait around while you set up a tripod!)and the stabilized 12X zoom lens is wonderful. I haven't had to use a tripod for the pictures I've taken and they've turned out really well.

I'm not too happy with it's performance shooting action. It's auto focus is way to slow and I miss a lot of action shots during the soccer games. I also see more noise than I would like and it does not handle low light levels very well. I bought mainly to shoot my kids sports but I am beginning to wish I had just kept shooting slides and had bought a dedicated slide scanner instead.

Very good work BL. I put Good Morning on my favs. One thing I've noticed about your photos, either Optio or FZ10, you always seem to get the sharpening just right. Got any secrets to share?

The Pentax Optio S needed quite agressive USM in Photoshop, the FZ10 is WAY sharper, just a little sharpening with 0.3 radius does the trick.

I find the the autofocus speed's pretty quick myself, no complaints from me.

Sammie, I've noticed your shots as I keep an eye on the pictures that FZ10 owners are taking. I love the sharpness on your Cottonwood Tree shot.
