Seems Fetor is going to be in the country, so that seemed reason enough. :-) Well, that and I've been thinking it might be nice to hang with Mephisto for a couple of days, to see his new camera. (Yeah, that's what all the kids tell their mothers when they go run off with good looking young men... trust me, that's what I told my Mom.)

So... mini get-together, from 20-24 Feb or any part thereof, meeting at Eisenach on Friday the 20th, exact location to be determined. Exact agenda to be determined as well. Other potential places we may go include the Frankfurt area at some point.

We're trying to talk Gary and Nasti into coming, and dpdave will be there, too. The more, the merrier, and Christoph promised cookies!

God I Miss Germany!!!
I had a wonderful time living in you land for three years while stationed in Bitburg. Sometimes I wish I would have stayed.

Yeah, and purdy models would also be very very welcome =]

deb, may i remind you that you already admitted you had us guys with you as your "toy boys"? so no need in pretending your innocence...:D

oh and fetor, i think we won't have a model in eisenach, but as deb suggested, perhaps someone could contact serdar to either join us on the small trip or for a shooting in the frankfurt area (and to get some of his female model friends to join of course)?

I suspect with your charm, you guys could find a model just wandering the streets in Eisenach.

Anyone know of a good place to stay in Eisenach? I'm about to begin my usual "translate as I go" search for lodging...

you mean joeylawrence-style? i remember him starting to chat with these two punk girls in the streets of münster before he ended up having a shooting with them in some abandoned back street dump...too genious.

don't worry, i'll ask my grandma, she probably knows some places. shouldn't be a problem finding a place to stay at this time of the year anyways.

Ditto! :D

btw i called to my gran'ma and she said she knew about a nice private guest-house just down the road from her. is it a problem if the owners don't speak english that well?
and do you wish to stay together in the same guest house (and only one night from 20th to 21st right?)? my grandma wants to call me back with some info about availability and prices and such the next couple of days.
anyone got info from other potential dpc'ers joining us?

I have no idea if I snore... I'm up for a private guest house and the owners not speaking English is fine by me as well. Are we only staying in the Eisenach area for one night, or do we want to make it two? Dave has to go back on Saturday, but the rest of us don't have to be anywhere.

yeah gals never snore (and don't burst my bubble by saying some girls do!) but how about cory and dave...? ;)
i dunno about how long we want to stay, but i suggest friday and saturday should be enough to check out eisenach and the Wartburg castle and then move on to...let's say Weimar? or Kassel. i know about a huge old park there and IF we get our hands on some models this would be a really cool location to shoot! cross your fingers for some nice gloomy-foggy weather...! ;)

Yay! I really never did know that. Good to find out! :-)

As far as weather, gray with chance of flurries for the next 6 days or so.... Oh, and the water is not on for the fountains this time of year. It is kind of a neat place to visit though - I have been there.

As far as I'm concerned you don't snore. But I guess I'm a poor judge of that right? :-)

Wish you guys were meeting closer. I live on the other side of Germany though. My inlaws live fairly close to Eisenach in Steinbach-Hallenberg.

Turned out to be quite the fun GTG! A few pics from me, and I'll keep hounding Cory and Christoph to post some, too.

One of the group shots:

Eisenach and the Wartburg castle (photograph notes have more info):

Well that's a start! And I know Christoph has SOME digital images... the rest we'll have to wait for until he gets the film developed.

But I know you have more.... get some editing done (hint - open small jpg, resize for DPC, submit) and post more! :-)
