I'm apparently one of the few people that doesn't think it's funny. The dad is laughing at him, and saying "it feels good doesn't it?" The kid quite obviously doesn't think it feels good and doesn't understand what's going on. I'm not saying that the father doesn't love his child, but his behavior sure indicates that he's an idiot.

Umm. I'd like 2 minutes of my life back.

Did we watch the same video?????

I thought it was hilarious. I could so see my seven year old responding that way.

I remember when I had my wisdom teeth removed. I was "just fine." I was too busy drooling on myself to care about anything. I can sooooo sympathize with the boy. And yes I thought it was funny.

Well for what it's worth, I found it mildly entertaining. I wouldn't say that the father is an idiot, but to me it was kinda like watching a video of people being drunk or high... which are usually never beyond the "mildly entertaining" mark for me... I cracked a smile when he was like, "I have... two fingers..."

We had our daughter like that once when she busted her chin... they said it was the same thing as her being drunk and on drugs because toddlers wouldn't keep still.

No video camera then, so we didn't catch her wooziness., but it was funny...

I liked when he stood in his booster seat howling and then collapsed as if tired from the effort. :)

Dad said I got drugged like that once. Dentists are evil... Remember my old dog waking up from surgery. Was like hearing a car with low battery trying to start. woOwOwOwOwOwOwww...rrrrr.rr.wwwOwoOwoOwoO.rr... That was funny.

Haha... "Is this real life?" What a brilliant ting to say!

Yeah, actually I remember when I was drugged to get my wisdom teeth taken out. I tried to see how long I could stay awake but the world started fading and getting dark. The next thing I remember was very dreamlike and my mom shoved me in the bathroom because she thought I had to go before she took me to my room. I remember just standing in the bathroom thinking, "What am I doing in the bathroom?" I tried to say, "Mom, I'm fine, I don't have to go," but it only came out as, "...nnnooooooooo!!" No memory after that until I woke up on my bed several hours later, lol.

I think I must have said some similar things after having my wisdom teeth removed. Ahhhh, Codeine ...

I had a similar experience with my wisdom teeth. The nurse told me to count backwards from 10, and I was determined to "show them." I remember saying eight. When I came too, all I can remember is my doctor is bright purple scrubs in front of a window, and he and my mom were laughing.

I had started talking before fully coming too. I continued to talk, incoherently, for the next 4 or 5 hours.

I remember nothing except the purple scrubs.

all four of mine (atypically large, according to my dentist) were impacted, and nowhere near the "surface".

if the doc had tried to remove them with just a local, I probably would have bitten his hand off.

:P

my 20 yr old daughter ali, had to have wisdom teeth out a couple of months back and only had a local ..
one was impacted as well .. he had to cut away a bit of the bone to get the tooth out because of the way it was sitting ..
i think his thinking on the matter is that a general is far worse than the temporary discomfort during the extraction ..
and because its totally numb its more a mind thing that real pain ..
he seems to be doing ok .. he has all his extremities .. !!
he's retiring soon tho, could be coz of all those ppl who just HATE him .. lol .. !!!

Haha, actually, I know a lot of people who get their wisdom teeth removed with just a local. It's sort of a choice thing as far as I know.
