probably not to difficult to implement, and would mean never missing a post that someone has directly quoted you!

Wouldn't this get a little crazy though? If tons of people start quoting you in the same thread? Then when people quote people who were quoting other people who quoted you, would you still get an alert?

What I was thinking...especially the way people here, for some reason, insist on quoting everything over and over in threads.

I think better identification of this would be great.

I would NOT do it as an email though.... The conversation could highlighted (colour or whatever in the list), if there has been a comment since your and you have not visited the conversation since (the info is there because that thing on the end already is keeping track of part of this).

What if it was just for the first quote and all other quotes after that were ignored?

Dang, that would fill *my* mail SO fast... I talk a lot though, and get people riles up, so I'm an extreme case...

And mine would remain empty even though I do post a fair amount. LOL

You could create a rule in your inbox that sends the emails straight to the trash

So would mine. Hey - you would have just gotten an email if this were already instituted.
