Hey Sheila, and all you other preverse s*** lovers, it's coming down like snot in the Ottawa Valley right now, just got off the phone asking my snowplow guy to come and blow me out sometime tonight.

Go ahead, laugh, look what happened to BeeCee when I told her that *grin*

But guess what I got a humoungous 426-lb cast-iron woodstove named soon, 5 cord of green white ash and 1 cord of seasoned maple to keep me warm...so sucks to all of you! Bwwwaaaahhahahahahahahaaaaa!

BeeCee and I enjoy poking fun at each other. She recently addressed a thread to me, snaffles, cause they were getting snow in Victoria BC, where they rarely get more than an inch or two. This year though they got MASSES of snow over Xmas holidays and where I live, in Eastern Ontario, we had hardly any.

So now my part of the country is getting walloped with snow again, and on her side of the country it's vanishing...

Just to be clear, if I asked my snowplow guy to blow me out I might get arrested. Does this mean something else in Canada?

My snowplow guy is our mayor. I've never asked him to blow me out.

Snaffles, are you going to start a thread to help name your 426 lb. woodstove? Can I start with "Bertha"?

I think it already has a name, "soon" if I remember correctly.

Yes, the stove is named Soon, cause I kept telling the cats that soon it would be working. It sat on the hearthpad for at least a week. Then the interior chimney got done. Then another lull due to weather and holidays. Then exterior chimney got done. Then WETT inspector came to ensure that Soon was indeed properly connected, all safety precuations were taken.

So not only did I have a WETT inspector over recently, I also asked my snowplow guy to blow me out...*sigh*...go nuts, people, go nuts.

I just keep thinking of the time when my Mum, then a naive 20-something, asked a female hotel clerk in Portage la Prairie to 'knock her up in the morning'. After the guffaws subsided, all was explained.

Just took a picture of the cats in Soon's vicinity, and some of the mighty Soon on her own. Will post them...soon...:-)

Ok here we go...

Octopussy, aka Druli, is in the green stripey chair. Lily is on the big black coffeetable/trunk, sitting amongst the makings of her rug. Soon is behind Lily.

Soon in all her Vermont Castings glory. The thing atop her is an EcoFan which makes its own electricity from the rising heat, and disperses it throughout the house.

Aw crap, busted! Well lemme tell you...there'd be a few LCBO bags kicking around your place too, if you went through the last 3 weeks like I did, living in a house-shaped icecube!

PS Snowplow guy just blew me out, at 8:30. It was wonderful.

:O( ...sob, I stood there shivering, my cold hands clasping my equipment and then I saw the snowplow person... alas, she blew out my neighbour and not me. Call me despondent.

ROFLMAO! Down, Ray, down! You'll give me a bad reputation!

Besides...it was snowplow guy who blew me out, not the other way round *rolling eyes*
