Well over New Years we played on a Wii at a relatives house. We have always been a PS2 family and not needed the cutting edge or latest stuff. So I find out Walmart is having a sale today where they are actually having systems in stock. I was at Walmart at 11:45 last night waiting with two other men who were sent by their wives to get one. They had six in stock to be released at midnight. They also had several Wii Fit, but I didnt have any spare change for it, although I wanted it. So anyway I spent the entire day today playing Wii Sports and can see why the addiction for this system is there. Its alot of fun, and alot different then any of the others.

So what games are there that are fun for families to play together. No RPG or things that require a ton of body movement as my son has limited mobility, but loves to have fun with his dad. Recommendations?

BTW I'm trying to find Wii points to get the browser so I can surf on the Plasma as well.

Mario Kart is fun, so is Super Smash Brothers Brawl. Boom Blox is pretty cool too. I've downloaded quite a few games too. I'm a big Mario Bros. fan, so I downloaded all the old Mario games. I also downloaded Tetris, Brain Challenge and a few others. The other thing I like to do is the Mii challenge. Every week they have a contest to see who can design the best Mii to fit the character named.

I tried it out the other day (Wii Sports) with my nieces (on their set) - only for a short time, but my arms are still sore. I guess one doesn't have to be so energetic, though. But getting one for our home use is not a high priority. ;-Þ

I am currently hooked on Animal Crossing (one person at a time can play but you can live in the same town). Monopoly is fun on the Wii for a family game. You can limit the game to 30 minutes.

360 too, and PS3 if I could afford it right now. Hell, I'd have a wii if I could afford it, but all I would have it for is to sit there and glow blue and look pretty.

I can understand your obsession. I am not a gamer, and havent had a gaming console in 10 years. I played Wii couple times last year (Rock band, Mario Kart, and Wii sports), and loved it. I got back from Montreal a week ago, and since, have been to over 30 stores looking for the damned thing.

Nobody had it, or Mariokart.... but eventually one store had two mariokarts left, but no wii. I bought the game. So... now, I have the game, but no system to play it on.

sigh.

if I had a Wii, I'd find out were a wal-mart had them in stock and get there really early in front of the store with all the people waiting to buy it and smash it in front of all them, then pee on it, then burn it.

Mario Kart, Raving Rabbids, Wii Fit, Big Brain Academy, Wii sports are all very popular at our house with a 7yo and a 4yo. There is something for everyone.(i mean where else can you get the kids to jog for 10min of their own accord)

Rabbids is weird and bizarre in a strang and freaky kind of way but fun nontheless. MArio Kart is good for anyone as is wii fit, sports and bigbrain(which is great for kids and for adults).

PS most of these games I listed multiplayer modes.

You have issues and should seek counseling. There is nothing in the world that could take me to that level.

Seriously........seek some help.

I'm going to toss this out to the people here who have a Wii. Anyone have a Wii Play they dont like, dont use? It seems you can not buy it without a remote. We already have the second remote, but Brandon likes some of the games on it. Anyone have one they want to sell?

Do you have a GameStop close by? I know the GameStop stores around here sell them w/o the second remote.
