I've been feeling exactly the same -- my vocabulary has suddenly become quite inadequate for expressing my appreciation for these images.

Here is a little tribute to ErinM and ubique for their lovely horse images. Theirs were among the many inspiring images presented this month.

A friend of mine has two Clydesdales and two Belgians (and a St. Bernard). I just had to give them a look with the LB.

I'll be on tonight and tomorrow to catch up on comments. I just wanted to say that I had a blast and was completely awestruck by your images, truly an inspiration. I believe that I learn and grow as a photographer/artist not only by doing but by looking at others work, this side challenge has definitely provided me an education. Thanks for the comments and the beautiful work, hope to see you guys in some of the other side challenges. Trevor~

Its too bad this side challenge ends today as I just recieved my lensbaby last night. Just from the very little I've played with it I can say I love it and can't wait to play more.

Friday night and another tough week at work. And my daughter wants me to help chaperone/drive a group of middle school girls who are 'down on their luck' to a Christian concert event in Cleveland. Geez. Well, the last concert I went to was the Rolling Stones many years ago. She gave me her puppy dog eyes and I succumbed. The arena had about 10,000 mostly teenagers who were really into it. And the music was actually pretty good! I was turned off a bit by the fundraising that took place between the bands- which followed some 'testimony' that I felt was a bit suspect. But the girls we took had a great time. These are rural kids with difficult family lives. They have no money, no cell phones, no cable TV... So I felt good. It was really kind of awesome (?) to see these kids, 10,000+ good kids, having a good time.

The photos below don't really do much for me, but they are a snapshot of the event. Kind of hard to take arena shots with the lensbaby.

This has been the greatest side challenge ever. Thanks to everyone who participated and commented.

I still need to see what's gone up in the past week or so - I plan to take time tomorrow morning to peruse, linger, and enjoy. A few comments will be left as well. I have a few more I'll post here - really enjoyed trying to learn to work with the new toy and will continue to see what I can do with. Enjoyed even more seeing what the rest of you can do with these nifty things!

I propose there be a continuing Lensbaby thread where we can continue to post and enjoy. If one doesn't pop up by the time I get up in the morning, I may well start one!

Yep, I agree with Germaine... it's been a remarkable experience where I learned so much more than I expected, both in the mind-stretching images you all contributed and in the perceptive and enjoyable comments you all posted. Thank you.

Also want to say this, which I originally posted on Colleen's final shot, but which I hope she won't mind me pinching to post here because it relates to everybody:

"One of the best things about this side challenge (no ... THE best thing) is that the experience was so unexpectedly intimate. I don't mean anything inappropriate by that, but I mean that somehow the LB was an excuse for most of the participants to be very generous with the view they allowed into their own personality and mind."

Thanks especially to Rachel RKT for making this side challenge happen. You may have noticed that several more people have just lately been inspired to get LB's themselves, so we should have another one sometime, yes?

Can't let you go without a final horse:

This was a fantastic side challenge! I wish I could have participated more. (next time) Thanks to everyone for sharing their incredible work!

It's been a great side challenge - to echo everyone else's sentiments - my only regret is that I didn't get an opportunity to participate more. Will have to spend the next week catching up on commenting on the last week's image posts.

Rachel, you should start a permanent post-any-LB-images-here thread for ongoing work, like I did with the pinhole/zone plate side challenge - I'm sure that will benefit especially those who only just lately picked up their LBs (congratulations!) and will start churning out images, as well as all of us, to have a LB "home".

And speaking of pinhole/zone plate, I plan to hold another side challenge for that in April, so all of you with a LB with a pinhole/zone plate optic are welcome to join in, too. I know Andi and Rachel would like to participate, and I expect there will be some other participant carry-overs from this side challenge to that one. Keep an eye out in March for the sign up thread and I hope to see you there.

Thanks all, it's been fun!

This dog cracked me up. Owned by the same family that has the Clydesdales and Belgians. Big horses and big dog. Thought I would post one more before its over.

day 31

Thanks so much for the comments and the camraderie. These side challenges are what I love most about this site, and are what keep me here. Every time I participate in one, I am challenged and inspired. It has been truly wonderful to spend this month with some old friends, and to get acquainted with some new ones. Looking forward to the next time.

I fizzled out at the end. My show and work took over and I didn't get much time to shoot.

What a great experience this has been, I couldn't imagine a better way to learn about a new lens than participating in this side challenge! Thanks to all for taking the time to look and comment, I know I'll continue to look at and comment on the images in this thread for a while yet. Best of all was meeting some new folks, and to echo Paul, it has been wonderful to get a glimpse into your personalities and minds! So here is the last for this month, but I'm confident that the lensbaby community here will continue to share...

lol, I have 3 images that I quite like and need editing and a couple of 'ideas' if the weather is fine tomorrow, I do think the above might have been the most dpc friendly but hey, this is a LB H2H ;) Am hoping this FS H2H becomes a close run thing and looking forward to the challenge Sir.

Cheers would be about right Robt, have climbed up to 5.000 at 40 votes.

Anyone up for another month? :D

I haven't had the time to make and post a lot, so I hope I can make that up in February :)

New thread? Or just add it here?

Lensbaby Permanent

I made us a new home just like some of you suggested...so keep posting there.

Glad so many enjoyed their LB trip! We will definitely have another challenge, don't know when, but we will. In the meantime head on over to the new LB permanent home.

Thanks to all who participated in this challenge. It was a real pleasure, and I hope we'll keep this up in the LB permanent home. I'll try to be catching up on some commenting now.

Thanks for January Rachel and what a great set of images and photographers, some real characters and more than a few true photographic classics.

January saw me commenting more than I'd done in the previous 2 years! (471 given and 436 received).

Habit had me editing a LB shot today so thought I'd kick the new thread off with a shot from the North West coast.
