While driving around familiar parts (for the upteenth time) looking for photo ops, I stopped at a small playground/park where I played as a kid. It was almost surreal, since a lot of the playground equipment has been there 37+ years; my mom has photos of me at around 2 yrs old on this stuff. As I was walking around, I couldn't help but wonder where all the years have gone. The swings looked lonely without kids and begged for a picture. Another shot that wouldn't have that "magic" that the Lensbaby provides...

I'm also including a version without the overlay. I like both, so I guess it's a personal preference thing...

I suppose I should post this here too (I had posted it as a reply on one of Karen's shots)

So let's see some kitchen shots.

If anyone has a good B&W technique they are willing to share, please let me know. I'm open to ideas.

Nik Silver Efex Pro. I use it with all my black and whites. Not cheap, but definitely worth it!

Yeah. Where the heck have you been? It's your LB shots from November that gave me this illness.

You SQUEEZE the lens to get approximate focus: You BEND the lens to move the sweet spot where you want it. You hold those positions while pressing the shutter. I can imagine it's quite a challenge. My 3G, on the other hand, has a lock button so it will hold whatever position it's bent into, and then a small focusing ring that allows fine-tuning of the focus, and threaded rods to allow fine-tuning of the tilt. It's great for tripod work, but it's not very spontaneous.

Now, those "Composer" people got it easy; THEIR lens is on a ball-and-socket mount and sports a normal focusing collar, so it basically works just like a tiltable normal lens. Heck, I'm not even sure (just kidding) we can call what they have the "real thing"...

Jejeje™.

Thanks Robert! I actually know that I have to do those things... but it's combining them together fluidly that I'm struggling with :) I keep moving my hands on the lens as I push the shutter. I'm trying though :)

Day 5:

My lensbaby arrived just before Christmas after weeks of waiting for it. After some practicing I got some nice shots and really love the light effects in nightshots. However I am struggling to gain some actual control over the behavior of the lens.
Here are 2 from end of December, I was sick and haven't really taken a lot of photos after New Year.

Hi Charlene! Hang in there, and don't give up! I also have difficulties. Heck, out of 75 shots today, I only ended up with 5 or so that I liked. LOL

I love how many people have expressed their joy at this thread - it's like Peace, Love & Lensbabies!

LOL - that was my wish for Christmas! Love, Peace & a Lensbaby

Happy exploring!

I'll try to catch up on commenting a bit this evening. Daunting, the work you folks are doing! I so wish I could play along, but I'll just have to live vicariously. (No word on the re-ship from Lensbaby. I'm not overly hopeful.)

Day 6

I haven't had much time for photos the last few days, so here's another from New Year's Day. I really must find time to play with lensbaby some more.
