Not something I think I'll be trying, but looks like fun. Well, OK, not sure "fun" is the right word there... but kinda cool to fly.

Question - when they did it with skis, are the skis disposable, because how the heck do you get them back? And I do think they're nuts. (That pass along the road? Somewhere out there is a video of a very experienced base jumper who didn't quite clear a bridge. You only get one miss.)

Now that is intense. If I had the nerve to do something crazy and insane - I think that would be it.

Hey - this is where i live! Bring your camera and come on over. I'll hook you up with a suit and off ya go! :)

But seriously - this is some awesome 'flying'. I can't believe that they dare going so close to the mountain and roads. This is just insane!

I've never even imagined anything like it! Holy Cow!

That's pretty wild stuff. Just practicing for that kind of stunt flying would be high pucker factor stuff.

DAMN!!!! If I wasn't such a coward I'd LOVE to do that, imagine the feeling... oh boy!

Hehe - better being down here wishing you were up there than up there wishing you were down here :)

That's arguably one of the stupidest things I've ever seen human beings do, jejeje™... My #1 question is: who developed the PROTOTYPES of the "wingsuit" and what happened to them? I mean, did they get right the first time out of the box, or what?

To answer the earlier ski question, yeah they DO have disposable skis; doesn't take very high-end skis to run straight down a mountain and jump, and there's LOTS and LOTS of discarded skis available cheap. That would be my guess, anyway.

It does look like a hell of a thrill, though. Even though I'd still maintain that anyone who willingly flies at such a high velocity so close to a rock surface, whether it be in a wingsuit, on a paraglider, or in a plane, is out of his/her mind.

Incidentally, oddly enough, I'd suspect this activity is actually SAFER than "traditional" base jumping, where you jump off a cliff with a parachute: at least here you can immediately maneuver out and away from the shear zone next to the rock face. IN the usual base jumping experience, it's not that uncommon to get slammed back into the rock by updrafts when the chute opens, which is why the activity has been made illegal in a lot of places...

Man, I got chills watching that video... My favorite scene is where the 3 guys all jump off at once and flip backward. Awesome.
