Hi, I'll travel to New York and wanted to take photos of myself and friends at night with all the lights of the city/streets and everything, but i've always had problems with night photos... I either get them blurry or dark or with too much light from the flash... what can I do to have the person focused but with a background with intense lights, not only some dots?? thanks for the help... and Happy Holidays to everyone.

1 use a a tripod
2 set iso to as high as you can
3 fastest shutter you can
4 everyone hlod still
5 have people standing in a light
6 realitivly small apature(f5 or 6ish)
Easiest trick is to find an area where there is good lighting (or decent) and light your subject with it so they can be well exposed. like outside a street window or by a street light
