Does anyone know anything about the security problem with IE? I'm using Firefox now because of the security issue, and I really don't like Firefox!

Don't know much about the problem but I def don't have as many issues w/ bugs now that I use FireFox. It took a little getting used to, and customizing it helps, but now I prefer it over IE!

Sorry I wasn't much help!

I use Google Chrome. Fast and reliable. Much faster than IE. Each tab is a separate thread, so a tab my crash but it doesn't take out the whole browser when things go wrong.

Why don't you like the Fox? Most likely whatever you dislike about it can be changed or adjusted.I've been using it since the original Mozilla suite. I used IE at work for a while and it drive me nuts. I finally had to install FF, even though IT said it wasn't approved by them. I must have my extensions!

I guess I may just be a creature of habit! I don't like the bookmarks page, to me it seemed better organized in IE, same with the buttons up top, the home button isn't where I'm used to it being and the back and the refresh buttons are in a different spot. I also don't like how it opens up new tabs. I prefer to open up a whole new window.

I was a hard core IE user, decided to give firefox another try when 3.0 came out. I'm hooked now, using add ons and customizing.

Want your bookmarks to open in another window rather then a tab. Right click on it and click open in new window. There is also a short cut but I prefer tabs and dont remember it right now.

firefox is great for normal browsing, but is not very suitable for corporate networks which utilizes microsoft technologies like sharepoint, exchange owa to name a few. you can still get SOME of them to work on firefox, but at a watered down version, if at all. this is one of the problems which doesnt allow me to fully divorce IE.

Chrome looks nice, but not about to try something so much in its infancy. there are bound to be security holes unpatched somewhere!

A fix has been released for the security issues already, found here. However if your computer is set to receive automatic updates this will be one of the new updates going out today.

If you don't normally do automatic updates then I suggest installing this fix. If you think that your just an average user and no one has any reason to get on your machine, think again. You would be amazed at the information I could find on any one of your machines if I wanted too...
Bank accounts, passwords, emails, IM's, computer history, key strokes I could take your entire life and life savings in under 30 minutes.

Easy to change that default behavior:
Tools-->Options--->Tabs---> check radio button for "New Pages should be opened in a new window"

It's been fixed and the update is available today. Run Windows Update and the fix should be there.

Thanks for all the help!! I will try out the suggestions for Firefox before I go back to IE, just to give it a fair shot.

Firefox is good but it's slow when viewing images. I compared it to IE and IE kicks FF's arse when viewing lots of images on one page. That's my only gripe towards FF.
