Sounds like fun. Now if I could only figure out a way to photograph my jokes... :)

That sounds different and a lot of fun!

Well, there are quite a few centenarians around here, so visits to the old folks' homes would be interesting - though difficult, given my fluency in Japanese.

I hope McCain's still around when they announce this challenge next month.

...come to think of it, I wonder if anyone will remember who he is. :/

holy crap, look at what one of the results have to say about stem-cell research:
"Opponents of the research argue that embryonic stem cell technologies are a slippery slope to reproductive cloning and can fundamentally devalue human life. Those in the pro-life movement argue that a human embryo is a human life and is therefore entitled to protection."

Uh-oh, we might end up with the Gabor quints.

And back on-topic, I could always do a self-portrait....?

I'm still using stuff in my kitchen that if it's not 100 years old it's very close, like the heavy old chipped white china cup that's used for measuring sugar and has been for as long as my mother could remember, and she was born in 1916. I have stuff from WWI, but that's not quite old enough... could we postpone this challenge a few years? :)

Hmmm, the Gabor Quints or the Dionne Quints? At the risk of dating myself (oh, heck, I've already done that) they and that 'dear' little Shirley Temple were in all the kiddy books, once upon a time. No, I don't have any left over.

Ahem, anybody remember Shirley Temple?

Well, why not? If you can't find anyone else to go out with, date yourself. ;-)

Les, why do you have "Do not include photo restorations" in there? Am I missing something besides the artwork rule potentially coming into play?

LOLLLLLLL! I just did that. Spent the weekend in a lovely seaside resort and it was cold, and a bit rainy, but you know, a little Tanqueray and some very good food, and my date was lovely.

Hi Laurie. I guess I was thinking that some folks may take an older photo and use it (either digitized or as a background or something). Now that I think about it, the restrictions on using existing artwork would preclude one from doing so.

I've gone back and edited my original suggestion message.

Thanks!
