Shipping to South Africa is $125 for a single 4GB Extreme III CF card :(

not sure if that is correct, 3 cards at 12.95 each would come to 39 dollars, a 60 dollar rebate would net you a profit of 21 dollars?

You can get the cards for pretty cheap:
//www.abesofmaine.com/item.do?item=SDCF4GBXIII

They show up in your cart as $22.95 and you send away for a $10 prepaid visa card for 1, $30 for 2, and $60 for 3.

So, 1 will be $12.95, 2 will be $15.90, and 3 will be $8.85, if my math is correct, but only if you send in the rebates.

You can also get an 8GB kingston HC SD card for $12.99 at NewEgg, with no hassle for rebates. The kingston has a transfer rate of 6MB/sec v. 20MB/sec for the SD Extreme III, but unless you shoot a lot in burst mode the Kingston should be plenty fast.

ETA ... and free shipping to boot.

I just read the only review for this card here.

The customer complained that after a few 100 image captures, some of his images started coming corrupted.

I am tempted to get one. But I want to make sure this is not a general problem.

Is it? Anyone with this card experience?

ETA: Sorry just read the last post. I hope its ok I posted here since it isnt a deal link.
