If I have a Nikon D Model (my hopeful Christmas present) what is the name of the cable that goes from the camera to like a laptop or computer so you can see the pictures on the monitor right away rather then on the LCD?
Thanks from Agnes

The camera probably comes with a USB cable which would be used for tethered shooting. I'm not sure if Nikon cameras come with the software to allow you to do this.
Check out this DIY video for tethered shooting with Nikon. //www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbAIC_p3lzo

I don't mean a card reader or the USB cable. I mean the cable that will allow you to see the pictures on the monitor as you are taking them. (or is it the same thing?) |

Same thing. That's how the camera is connected to the computer. You may need software other than what comes with the camera to actually accomplish what you need though. For Canon cameras the software is Remote Capture. I'm sure there's something similar for Nikon.
