I must say, totally unrelated to this post I went through all of your portrait a weeks last night, and it really inspired me to persevere with my portraiture. You are my favourite photographer at the moment by such a wide margin Jennifer!

Eesh, talk about a hijacker!

Sorry guys, I gotta yield the comments for the time being - just busy with Eyewave - but i'll be in later for some more.

Left you a few :)

Delta, if I can give you an overall comment on what I found, and this purely just by my limited observation - I think you could definately look at your compositions a bit. Overall, I feel you like to center your subjects in the frame - which is not bad, but it doesn't "give" me anything different or unique. By looking at different angles, perspectives and crops, you'll find more interesting ways to 'tell your story' as opposed to a straight on approach.

My 2 cents anyway :)

Pick me! Pick me!

You can tell me my more recent challenge entries pretty much suck, but I already know that. :-) Or you could just wander through some of the more recent stuff. Lots of tourist shots if you'd like to see some of Germany, Belgium, England, California...

And I'll do some of yours later as well.

Left you a couple Greetmir :)

I'd like to also provide a general feel with your portfolio that you can completely disregard if you feel like it.

While i found your pictures engaging, I couldnt help but feel drawn to the mundane - and i'm not saying that about your shots - it's just the subject matter of your shots.

Your Floral folder, for instance, contains overe 40 flower shots - none of which gave me something I haven't seen before.

Structure - almost all your shots take "from the bottom up" perspective - which once again, is fine - but was that the most interesting angle? Is it an interesting building? Perhaps focus on only a part of it?

Animals - once again, pretty straightfoward shots that didn't draw me in.

Nature - I enjoyed this one the most as I saw some interesting new angles, and attempts at it.

Overall, your shots are very nice but I believe a little more thought behind the expected could go a long way...

:P

Thank you for your (many more than a couple) comments. FYI, I agreed with every single one. I appreciate the time you took to see my portfolio from your eyes.
