I am thinking about getting a Smug Mug account since making my own site is just taking too much time. I have been using the demo for the last 4 days and I think it's good.

However, I wondered if anyone has ever used the application that allows you to setup and print out a hardcover book? Are they any good?

I use smugmug for my website also. I have used it for 2 years now and I am very happy with it. I have tried to make a book with them and it was quite complicated, the book came out ok but not as nice as other books I have ordered. I like Bay Photo for books. There are many templates to use and it is very simple to put together. The books come out great too.

I've used SmugMug for awhile now and like the service but have not used any of the commercial products available. We recently published a book using the BookSmart service in Flickr. The quality was nice but it took a while to receive it.

I have created books from both picaboo and shutterfly. I liked the quality book from shutterfly best while I liked the many templates to choose from in picaboo. I received both books in a timely manner. I plan on trying blurb for my next book because they look like they have many templates to choose from and I hear the quality is good.

I have seen books done by blurb and they look good. I will be ordering one in few weeks, will let you know how it is.

I used blurb for mine and am VERY pleased with the results. Excellent quality and pretty easy to use. Download their software, get it laid out the way you want it, THEN go back and edit your pics to be the right pixel sizes and color profiles. Submit, order, enjoy!

I use Blurb too, and I agree with Deb. It is very much "coffee table book" quality, and they are great to work with.

I use blurb as well. Unless you have more than 40-50 pages stick to hardbound books or they seem thin & wimpy but I'm sure that any book with few pages would seem that way.
