I'll second that sentiment! Something about doing well is stressing me out a bit. I signed up for the FSM just to force myself to keep taking photos and keep on entering. Looking at the scores each month is putting the pressure on me to not let me down each month!

That's why your score went down so much - that was  Alain's vote getting scrubbed. :) Actually I wouldn't worry about this - it was only after the fact. If voting was disallowed on any images where you know who they are, timfythetoo would never get ANY votes. :)
I'm looking forward to next month - got a new lens (well, I'm suspicious anyway...there's a courier box arrived today which my wife won't let me look inside of, and my birthday is this weekend, and...ahem...I did have to place the order myself. All the clues are adding up... :)
And I'm going to the south of France for a week. So, Alain, don't get too comfy up there on the mountain. :)

I'm ecstatic! At about 4:00 yesterday afternoon, I was at 5.8......and REALLY unhappy about it 'cause this is a decent image. But at 53 votes, it seems to have rallied!

what would you say is a good "middle of the road" average score for a free study? I see lots of people ranging from 4-7 in scores, so I'm assuming a mid 5 would be considered good or am I wrong?

I'm pretty happy. I've been steadily climbing since yesterday morning, so I hope that trend continues. Who knows, I could even potentially reach a 6 at that rate. (Or, now that I've publically posted, people could be mean and petty and take us all into free falls!) Sorry. I've doomed us all. |

Fingers crossed the voting continues in the right direction after watching it fall from a high of 7.3 to a low of 6.2 - its done some travelling!

I just really really want to break into the 6 category. I kind of made a point of going for a 6+ on challenges... think I may have missed it on my second one out of the gate! ARGH!

You will probably nail that first 6 on a shot that you personally think is so-so.
Added: just looked at your profile, and your only challenge entry is a 6.21. And I see a lot of 6+ stuff in your portfolio. Not sure you will have much trouble there, but I'm not understanding your comment now...
