I'll join, and decide which team when there are teams.

Well we started with it like that in previous seasons but it never really works out like that to be honest. I don't know how we will do the teams but I am thinking about keeping it the same way and seeing how it goes.

The new scoring system won't be as straight forward as it was in the past and will eliminate one team to dominate the Olympics.

I'd like to see free form teams, like a Golf Scramble. Each player is ranked A, B, C, or D based on average score for the last 10 challenges (or all if less than 10). This is from the signup time or before a certain date. So last 10 from now (so anything between now and the start don't affect it).

A - 5.8001+
B - 5.6001-5.8000
C - 5.2501-5.6000
D - 5.25 and below.

Or some such scale.

Then the teams can have 2 or each. They can have more lower, but not more higher. So you could have 2-2-2-2 (A-B-C-D) or (1-3-2-2) or (1-2-2-3) or (1-1-4-2)... IOW a lower player can take the place of a higher ranked player, but not vice versa. This keeps self-selected teams from stacking the deck.

Great idea but I think there should be 3 As then the rest can be lower. DPCO II teams seemed to average about 6-8 players. So that makes it a little more even.

Is there any room on an Aussie team?

This is an option. Another option is to run it like the Above Average Tourney. Whereby each team player aims to beat his/her average....and the overall average difference is then the score for the team for the week....so everyone has a fair go....where your teams average difference is up against all the other team average differences.

I'd love to join but I haven't done this before. Does team Canada still have any spots open?

Judi this is the way that the FSM is set up and more than likely the way that I will score the DPCO-III. But I need to reread HawkeyeLonewolf's idea because I didn't understand it really. I mean I just woke up 10 minutes ago so that could be the problem.

I like this too.

So if someone has a 5.75 and scores a 5.5, their contribution is -0.25, if they got a 6.1, they would contribute a +0.35. Then the differences are summed ++-++ to get an overall score.

I like it... sorta like a handicap. But again, I think should be based on their most recent 10 challenges average because people have improved over time.

Hi Team Canada! I think you guys might have missed this post:

I will create a new thread for the sign ups after this season ends. It will be a first come first serve for each team. There is no need yet to let me know that you are going to play or you want to. Not to be rude or anything but I just can't track who all wants to play just yet. I have to set up the scoring and things like that.

What I would like to hear is ideas or thoughts on the way you think the DPCO should be ran. I have a general idea how it will take place but I'm trying to please as many people as I can so post what you would like to see happen or what you would like to see different.

Thanks,
Joe

He's not a free agent he's CANADIAN and I'll talk to him later tonight and set him straight as to his country loyalties and if that doesn't work I'll throw him in the lake when we get together this weekend.

So put Scott down for CANADA.
