Complete rubbish. This is supposed to be a competition, with winners and losers. Sorry some win and some lose. Nature of the game.

Woah.
I dont think its changing the rules to give other teams a leg up. Its changing the scoring so there isnt such a big gap in points awarded. Besides, as DD has pointed out, this scoring method has been used on other DPC competitions. There were loosers in those competitions as well.

I'd like to join this time if there is room.

Could we include the members only challenge as well like in the DPL? This might help increase the entry hit rate and make it a bit easier to get a shot in. May also get DPC some more members. Also i work Weds to Weds :)

My only suggestion, in addition to the excellent idea of adding the over your average bonus points as already mentioned....would be if members could have a choice of choosing the "member challenge" instead of the open challenges, as long as they declare it their "official" entry before voting starts on the sunday night. The open challenges have been really lame lately, and I think that members deserve something extra. :)

Allowing participants to declare which challenge they want counted, prior to the Sunday rollover works for me.

At the same time, the current method works also. Some of the challenges haven't been my favorite. But at the same time I think that part of challenge is in meeting the challenge. I would not want the free studies in. Then everybody just goes to their strength.

Think of it as the individual medly in Olympic swimming. Some strokes may suit you better than others. But you have to do them all to win.

Thank you.

BTW I would need to adjust the scoring anyway because right now for the first 5 weeks we have 75% of the teams tied for 3rd which shouldn't happen in a mathematical world. No score can ever be exactly the same. I need to break that apart so I need to figure it out. (with some help of course)

The only problem I see with that is with the way I grab the scores. lets say that if a member enters both challenges but they stated that the wanted to use the scrores from the member challenges, When I grab the scores from one challenge those that did not enter will get a 0 and those that did will get a score. Then it will over write the score they should have got with something else. I just see that being a problem so I'm going to have to say no to that request. I just can't grab the scores the way I would need too.

Your method of grabbing scores would work if we restrcited the players to entering only one challenge....open or member.

Me too. I find participating in this gets me shooting things I don't normally shoot. My average may suffer, but, what the hay. ;o)

Count me in. Sounds like most of the Jokers are on board, so If we do keep the teams the same I would happily work with them again. If we change the teams, I can certainly get to know a new group as well. I'm flexible. i'll with hold any comments on the scoring system until we see what it is. DD's a smart guy and did a great job keeping track of the last round, so I'm sure he'll work something up that is fair. If not, we'll get Art to burn down his village! (no pressure)

Hey Deb, it's usually by first come first served and I think that's how DD plans to do it and if he gets more than 8 for one country he starts another team.

MAX!

Sounds like fun -- Count me in for a US team. What kind of time commitments has this needed in the past events?

Guys/Gals

I will create a new thread for the sign ups after this season ends. It will be a first come first serve for each team. There is no need yet to let me know that you are going to play or you want to. Not to be rude or anything but I just can't track who all wants to play just yet. I have to set up the scoring and things like that.

What I would like to hear is ideas or thoughts on the way you think the DPCO should be ran. I have a general idea how it will take place but I'm trying to please as many people as I can so post what you would like to see happen or what you would like to see different.

Thanks,
Joe
