I see from the early voting DPC is very literal in it's thinking.

If people hate it that much, I would hope they would at least comment and tell me why...

It is becoming quite obvious if the voter cannot see a road, Wink Wink, No score regardless of the quality of the photo or the meaning to fit the lateral thinking photos in the challenge.

PS: This type of voting makes a mockery of the the word Photography, maybe they should go to an art show and see the winners and vote on them.

There are rather a lot of roads in that challenge!

The literalists are not liking mine, but I anticipated this.

I'm a little shocked with the results for some of the other challenges (not with regards to my own pictures).

See, I wanted to submit a highway full of traffic, but my team mates dissuaded me. :o)

Gasp! I'm at 5.4.

There must have been a nasty band of trolls for the first few votes.

yeah thats just how it all works...

I often like to look how 'bell-curvy' my scores are compared to those that placed near me. Most of the time I have more 7s,8s,9s, & 10s and also more 1s, 2s, 3s and 4s... I guess I'm a polarizing photographer ;P

As a newb with this being my first challenge, how would one go about locating scores before the end?

Thanks,

Dallas

Go to My Home/My Preferences and under My Site Preferences (on the right hand side about half way down) tick the box that says 'Show My Scores'. Because you are only a Registered Member, your scores will be updated on the hour....so hit refresh then and you will see them. If you pay your $25 membership you will get an update button that you can click every second if you like.

When all is said and done The Roads Less Traveled is about the different directions and levels of life we take while growing, well this is how my parents taught me.

I have gone from 7.000 with two comments at 10 votes to 5.0400 at 25 votes with two comments. Yup....voters need to back up their vote with their wealth of knowledge....obviously they have some...or are they voting through their asses again?

*smiles* Another challenge I did not touch ;) DPC seems to have some issue with abstract interpretation. In the future I will only enter challenges like "Orange in a green bowl: Take a picture of exactly one orange (the fruit) in a green bowl of exactly 8 inches wide and 3 inches deep. Bowl must be upright. Do not include anything else as part of your subject. Have fun and be creative!".....

and see no road is what I would be looking for cause a road, especially a paved road, would give the impression of traveled more than less. I certainly wouldn't mark it down, even that suggested highway one, but it would be more of what I would consider less traveled. I guess I am just able to see out of the box...hey the road less traveled around here lol...and if I can get where someone was going with the image (as with many I've looked at this morning) they have met the challenge.

Good luck all of you, I didn't get time to PP my image I took on Sunday :( Maybe I'll get one in for the outtakes after voting.

Someone said in an thread last week they were surprised "the road less traveled" (one 'l' by the way) was a metaphor. Maybe some voters had the same problem?
