can i add canvas to 1 side of a picture in basic for the pourpose of comp.? |

it depends.. is it a frame? because those are allowed.. it wouldnt be adding canvas, it would be adding a frame |

I don't think that method of adding a border is legal in basic though I could be wrong.

He is only adding it to "one" side, so it could not be a border.

I don't think there is anything wrong with creating a border that way in Basic. If there is, the SC might as well DQ every one of my Basic shots with a border and ban me from the site. :-D |

Adding a border using canvas expansion is certainly legal in Basic. It must clearly *be* a border, however, and cannot be used to artificially change the composition of a shot. |
