Dang! I gave out more 10's than I usually do, yet all five of my 10's for Color Studio Portrait didn't even break the Top 20. :-/

IMO, very well done portraits!

You can give your own ribbons on this thread. Faery Ribbons? Faery Dust?

A couple of Free Study entries that didn't crack the top 100, but in my humble and oft offered opinion, worth another look:

Take a closer look, leave a comment if you feel so inclined.

And my vote for "WTF?" as far as score and placement:

Thank you guys so much for the nods! To be honest, my Abstract Emotion shot was a total last minute goofball entry just for fun. I really like my free study shot, though, and I'm glad some of you enjoyed it too.

This shot needs more than a ribbon, a gallery with only this shot sitting on a wall, and a bench nearby where someone stops by with espresso and a panini so I can sit and linger...

ah but a posthumous ribbon is ever so much more weighty and prestigious ;-)

Hmmm: Faery Dust - great idea...will work on something!

I'll 2nd that - Nixter's minimalist work is beyond exceptional IMO.

The use of human figures usually as silhouettes taking up just a small fraction of the frame, and usually from overhead, provides perspective on the relationship of man & the environment that he created for himself. The human is anonymous, the context is what is important. I've spent a lot of time taking his shots in.

For those who read here but may have missed elsewhere, a couple more of Nick's that didn't make it into challenges but deserve a view or two:

Amazing stuff.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread.

Thank you so much chromeydome!!! That definitely just made my day!!! I really appreciates your efforts to recognize great photos that don't necessarily ribbon, and I'm know that everyone else does, too!

ETA: smardaz, just so you know, I narrowed it down to 2 entries. Yours, versus . You won with a slight technical edge.. the other one is a great shot too.. may be I should start an honorary mention:-)

Thanks very much Prash! This is the second of my last 3 entries that have been mentioned in this thread, what a blast!
I am honored to mentioned in the running with Dylan. A great emotive shot that one!

Just two ribbons for this challenge. I liked biteme's photo but I don't like to give a ribbon when I definitely know who it is. Otherwise, it was kind of a drab challenge.
