Can i use lighting effects on a basic challange

i serched the board and stuff but nothing

If you are talking about software lighting effects, they can't be used in basic. They would have to be used very carefuly in advanced editing.

You can do any lighting effects with real lights though.

shoot, my picture is a little darkish...can i use d lighting in my camara or no

If you shot in raw you can change your exposure in raw conversion.

you can adjust the lighting using levels and curves, but it must be applied to the entire image. also, you can use the highlights/ shadows function in PS as long as it is applied to the entire image.

If you are unsure it is best to check with Site Council by using the Contact Page and sending them your origial and edited version for comparison. It is better to do this at least 2 days before the challenge starts voting to allow them time to assess your image.
