Got a problem. I set up a Google Group for this mentoring project, but it really does not support images well and has a small file storage limit.

Anyone have any ideas of what site to use to host a forum that acts just like DPC but for a limited number of particpants (i.e invitation only). Needs to allow for easy image upload and dispay and a large amoutn of storage.

I'm interested in joining. I'd rate myself more intermediate but I'd love to pick up a few tips and fill-in the gaps. I'd likely not take up much time. BTW, try out Flickr, it has uploads, private groups, and discussions. I'm just getting into it.

I concur with socalsteve, flickr would probably be the best bet for the group, that way we could upload photos, discuss them with relative ease, and all get better together! :)

We did something like this last year and if I remember it was very successful. Nice to see someone else has started this up. I had a couple of successful mentees if I recall, this one the one I am most proud of by alpharich

Havent really heard from him since then. I was discarded like a used tissue.

Oh, and I am willing to take on ONE mentee if someone needs some help, but I am a bit out of form at the moment so I may not be the best bet around..

I have moved the forum from Google to Flickr, as suggested. I will send out Flickr invites. My apologies for the confusion.

Did this ever get started? I guess I missed the cut if it did. :(

You are not the only one.

Just bought a Canon 40D. Never had a camera that could do raw before. I find myself so intimidated, that though I bought the camera two days ago I haven't had the nerve to do anything more than charge the battery. (Haven't even put the battery into the camera yet!)

If there is anyone who is interested in mentoring a DSLR and Photoshop newbie, I would be forever in your debt.

Yeah I missed the boat too. I just saw the thread. I have been teaching myself photo shop. If another one wants to mentor more people I would be interested. Thank you

I missed this as well, if the opportunity ever comes round again though I'm totally in! My photoshop skills are gradually improving, but I'm stuck at using layers. Awesome of you to offer this!

Sorry to ask again but did this ever get started? Just wondering
