I am willing to mentor a few members on Photoshop CS2/3 this summer over email or maybe a group forum. It would help me get back into the DPC community and get motivated to shoot and submit more often. I enjoy teaching.

Preferably you are shooting RAW, or want to learn about RAW, and have some basic knowledge of PS. Respond here and/or PM me.

Hey Ken, I would possibly be interested in being mentored a bit! I love learning! What all did you have in mind? I always shoot in RAW and have basic to mid knowledge of CS3 Extended but am always willing to learn more. My email is currently wacky so either respond here or email me at UribeEvan@aol.com

Mostly help take a few people to the next level. Composition, post processing, making images 'pop', things like doge and burn, non destructive layers, selective blur and sharpening, levels, the stuff I have learned. I am not an expert but have learned a few things and have been able to get a pageful of mid-6 challenge submissions.

Nothing formal. Mostly working with images you are already editing and providing suggestions and how -tos. Defintely not a formal process. Very casual since I travel alot on business.

I would love to learn more..as I just got a new D300 and new computer to go with it.. I have no idea what to do to photos in photoshop.. I know very little. I like to think I take pretty good photos.. I just have no idea what to do in post processing besides levels and color adjustments. I want to learn photoshop inside out!

I'm interested! I still using Photoshop CS2, and only for fairly basic processing.

I would be very interested. I need some motivation to enter more challenges and that would be a perfect start.

I really need to do this. I have good basic knowledge but want and need to really dig into PS. I am working with both CS2&3.

Sweet Like I said earlier I'm down! I'll be watching the thread so let me know when we start and if we have any assignments
and whatnot!

I'd be very interested if you'd have me...my post processing is where I really fall.
I'm a CS2 person. Let me know if I "get in". :)
Very generous of you to put this casual idea together.

Hey Ken- I'd like to take you up on this too. A very kind offer. I'm using CS3 and have made some major mistakes like the shot below demonstrates. I'm getting better but have a ways to go.

Ken I would love the help in photoshop. I have just recently moved up/sideways to PS3 and always shoot in raw. I hope you have room for me as well.

All the best to you and yours.

MAX!

Wow. I am surprised by the quick, enthusiastic response. I had expected only a few people to respond, so let me get organized and see how many I can work with realistically.

I was envisioning working with just a few people on specific photos, helping you explore some post processing options. Most likely over email unless I can set up a forum for everyone to participate in. I will review portfolios and get back to those who have responded.

I am a newer member and have been working with Photoshop CS3...but there are still some many things I still don't know. I see there is a long list, but would welcome any help.

I'm interested in learning some more. I have CS2 and just bought a D300 a couple weeks ago. I shoot all in RAW and haven't really done anything with photography for a couple years. I'm pretty dang good at selecting "Auto Levels" in photoshop, but would love to learn more about dodging and burning and some of the other things in it. (Tried to Dodge and Burn and failed miserably.)

I think a forum is called for.

I would be interested if it was done through a forum, not pm's or emails.

Thanks for the offer, very nice of you.

I would LOVE to have a mentor in the Post-Processing part. I just started photography about a month ago (reading and learning for about 3 months now). I already have some basic knowledge about photoshop, but I'd love to take it to the next level.

I submitted my first picture last night for the urban challenge. Right now I have a 5.58, it looks like its not that bad since I thought about it and shot it an hour before it was due.

This will help me join the community. I'll get the membership to be able to join all the challenges and have a portfolio here.

I am setting up a Google Group and will contact a few of the people who have responded. I will PM the info out. I may not be able to take on everyone; I am trying to create a group where everyone is more or less at the same level of experience.

Don't know if you already have too many people but I'd like some pp help with CS3. I am stuck and don't know how to process any better than I do. I understand the basics but don't know what more to do.
