I've watched them from a respectable distance for about 3 years and I gotta say... MM scares me. I've had too many friends tell me weird stories that all started with "someone that contacted me through MM.....". For me its about the reputation of my business name... but that's not what I want to specialize in, so its okay with me.

I've never done anything on there, but have had a profile there as a 'just in case I ever need it' for a while now.

I finally decided to join, too. Hey, JulietNN, we are neighbors! (Well, a long drive... but I'm in Apache Junction AZ (East of Phoenix)).

I tried to do TFP sessions with 2 photographers. One never sent photos and the other took over a month to send me the CD.

I don't think they check out the photographers much, not a good resource.

Gee thanks... 6-;

It can be a very good resource, can not put it down for just two bad experiences. Cause ya know, for every bad photographer experience someone states are are just as many if not more bad model experiences as well.

So yeah, come shoot with me L()L

I only use MM to hire models when the shoot calls for it. I don't do any freebie stuff, and I allways pay the models a minimum of $75.00 per hour. I use local talent, and have never had a problem with no shows etc. Some people may look at MM more as a dating service, but you can kind of tell by the models' portfolio what you may be in for if you choose to work with them. Stay away from the ones with the "Boy friend with the cell phone camera" shots in their port. And I encourage the model to bring a friend to the shoot.

I think it all depends. I mean look at all of us on MM, I bet we would treat you the way we would expect to be treated.

I have lurked there for a year or two, and I think that if you use your noggin, you should have a good success

We're there as well 253624. Been there for a couple of years now. Haven't done much with it lately but had mostly good experiences from it. Also discovered a few amazing photographers and artists as well.

Even I'm there 672242. Had a couple model shots set up but nothing big, I went in more because one of my models asked me to.
